Well, as a psychotic serial killer, I am all for knowing when single people will be alone and vulnerable in a strange place. Even better if they will follow directions to meet me in a place suitable for my vicious attacks - so much easier than dragging them kicking and screaming into the shadows if they go there in the first place of their own accord, you know?
As that I think demonstrates, it is just too damned dangerous as an easy way for some anonymous nutter to find a victim, without more to it than simply announcing where youre going and that you'll be alone and want to meet someone. There would have to be a lot more security applied to it IMO. I travel a lot in Europe for business, and get picked up at the airport by total strangers and driven off, spend time travelling around and meeting people I dont know - and all the time I'm thinking how potentially dangerous this is, even with having filed an itinerary with the office. How much more dangerous then, in a world in which most of us wish to conceal our preferences from others, and would therefore tend not to tell anyone that we're meeting a person whose name we dont really know to do something that others wouldnt understand?
