i've heard a little about abrasion, but not a lot. i'm not completely sure what abrasion includes. i know the basics, that it stimulates the skin with things like sandpaper, wire wool, and other items, but is this all? Are other things used commonly in abrasion? For example, rough rope (such as sisal) in bondage can have abrasive effects. Is this included under the category of 'abrasion'? As well, is scratching (nails, vampire gloves, metal claws) abrasive, or is that something completely different? Also, i have a pet brush with metal bristles to groom me as a Kat (no, not my hair..everywhere else). Is this considered abrasive play? i guess my problem is that i'm not reading into what it's all saying very well. If anyone can give a definite answer on this, i would be grateful, as well as for any links to good sites about abrasive play. my thanks to all for reading my question damia the Kat

i've done a little bit of abrasion play in the past, and admit i enjoy it. My partner at the time really enjoyed using contrasting "toys", especially if i was blindfolded and couldn't tell what was coming next. He'd use a green scratchie pad or steel wool pad, soft fur, his own hand (hard or gentle depending), brushes, ropes, silk scarves, sandpaper of different grades -- basically whatever he wanted. There were times, when it was all over, that i'd be surprised at what he had used, but it was always fun..even sometimes the next few days if certain parts of me were a bit tender gave me a lovely reminder of our play that weekend. This is definitely not the definitive list of things you can use, hot wax, cold ice, soft, hard, scratchy, prickly, take your pick..it's really whatever y'all want it to be... So abrasive play is anything on the skin/surface? i didn't think hot wax, ice, fur, hands, or fabric would be considered abrasive play...i'm a bit confused by this, as these don't have abrasive effects on the skin. Please explain?

This is one of my favorite types of play and it can be so deceptive to the observer. Whenever he chooses to do this with me I go on such a ride. For me it is the close body contact with him and the sensations that I just love. Anything that can abrade the flesh can be used in abrasion play, from fingernails to a wire BBQ brush. It is also fun to combine it with other things as well. Spritz alcohol or rub something like deep heat (Lokata Topical Pain Reliever is great) on freshly abraded flesh. The last time he did this with me was a couple weeks ago. He stripped me and put me on a pedastal in the middle of the play space. Then with a black sharpie wrote all over my body, breasts, stomach, thighs, back, arms and ass. He wrote things like my slut, whore, kick me, hit me, fuck me, etc. Then he proceeded to "erase" it all with abrasion play. He used fish cleaning gloves, block of sandpaper, different grooming brushes, metal BBQ brush, knives, etc. Then sprayed me down with alcohol and used Lokata Pain Reliever. After about an hour and several layers of flesh later, almost all the writing was gone. It was incredibly hot, erotic. Of course it is also the type of play that keeps on giving, because sleeping that night was painful and then not to mention having to take a shower and wear clothes the next day. It was really fun!! Please explain? I don't consider them abrasive, but that add a delicious contrast when used with other things that abrade the flesh.

Please explain? Sand paper and rough leather will do the trick. An abrasion is when the skin as been inritated by friction to the point of being rubed or scraped off followed by possible bleeding. If you don't belive this, then google it or read a First Aide book. I've never seen wax nor ice causing an abrasion but it can be done with furs and fabric. After all, suspension, bondage, and or a good strugle can cause enough friction to cause some abrasions to appear.

Pumice is also fun for abrasion, so are mild acids if you know how to remove/neutralize them effectively (make sure you know what to do with them). Light scraping with a nail file has been fun too. Pretty much anything that will grate against the skin to cause redness through stripping layers of skin off fall under abrasion. Go go carpet burn!

Master likes to do abrasion play, He uses His fingernails to rake the skin, especially after He has used the whips a little, also has a horsehair flogger that i just absolutely hate, He likes to use that one then rub alcohol all over me afterwards....such a sadist...
