Well, you claim don't vote either, how do we know this isn't some kind of gay voting denial?

I mean, look Mike, contrarian is ok, but when a post goes something like:

Stef:           An uzi is an israeli machine gun, not italian.
MikeGA:Well, I sure don't take it up the ass from anybody, no matter which country.

Ron, this is absolutely ludicrous.

I would never have called an uzi a machine gun, it shoots pistol ammunition.  Even gay non-voters know that.

I said that I'm glad people have the right to vote it's just that I don't believe in voting for either one candidate when I think they BOTH are corrupt...so I choose not to vote because either way neither one is gonna help make MY life any better...Maybe, however, if there were much stricter laws there wouldn't be so much crime like in countries with dictators who have HARSH sentences for laws broken...I want to see someone elected who will stop hunger in this "wonderful" country we live in..do you realize how many starving people live right in your own back yard while these politicians are eating $1000 a plate dinners???

Im so honored. Really, I wasnt expecting this at all.
Id like to thank the Academy.

Im not "more American". I just dont get the whole claiming that people's prerogative to not participate in the vote is "what makes it America".

There are more then just the few popular choices. Do some research, many people believe what you do and would like to run for office but they don't have the means to get their name out there. So find something you do believe in, support it and help get it out there so you CAN have someone to vote for. Even if they have no chance in hell of winning, at least you made you statement. Rather then sit back and say "Eh, I'm going to let others make my decisions for me"

What makes American is helping others...when was the last time you donated your time to a soup kitchen? I can tell you when mine was...less than a week ago in our church who offers meals once a day to the homeless..THAT is what being American is all about...How about fostering a child? AMERICAN children who were left behind and need someone ....If there was someone running for office that I felt I could trust and had alot to offer us, I WOULD vote.

i am not sure how voting goes in NJ, but in MI we vote on issues as well as picking which candidate we want. Issues like tax raises and whether or not the schools need more money. i guess you don't care about that either.....maybe if you had kids in school. But wait, you do have a kid in school....so maybe you don't pay taxes or you truly don't care.

Well, I volunteer with children, donate to various organizations and help old ladies cross the street, do I get your vote?

Oh sure, but that requires taking an interest and some actual effort.  It's much easier to spend the day in bed and complain that all politicians are evil and corrupt.  Now hush, Jerry Springer is about to start.

On the previous page you said "I really don't complain about it because there is nothing you can do when either way you are screwed...If I don't trust either person running for office, why vote? Anyhow, it was cold out today and I didn't feel like getting out of bed "

and now you tell us.....

so which was it?

I'm guessing QVC or Home Shopping Netowrk. NO need to even get out of bed.
What, you mean there is a whole world outside I could be part of???

I was joking about not voting cause I didn't want to get out of bed (being sarcastic)...Anyhow, I take care of four beautiful boys pretty much by myself one of which has special needs...I lost my Master suddenly in June and that has taken a toll on them as well because they considered him a Daddy..I am having trouble dealing with my diabetes, an upcoming surgery and coming off of a medication causing me to suffer horrible nightmares, lack of sleep, tremors and headaches..so if I DID decide to stay in bed today, God knows I earned it...I did go Christmas shopping today, but after some much needed rest....My 11 year old said it best when he said "If I get enough money and friends, maybe I could run for president"....perhaps..perhaps.

But you wouldn't vote for him anyway.
You have a busy life with some bad times that happened huh? Oh well then that explains it. What the hell was the guy I work with who has cancer  doing out voting today then, I mean his life isn't anywhere as bad as yours.

I guess I am not voted most popular here being that this is like "woo hoo look at how good I am for voting"..if it's your American DUTY then why brag about it?  That's like saying I should get an award for being a good mother, it's just something you SHOULD do, right? Congrats, you all are more American than me...

I don't need my 10 year old to educate me "son" I am intelligent enough not to follow the "herd" to the polls when half of the people who vote have no idea who they are voting for...I once asked a dozen people why they were voting and they said "uh cause our work let us out to go vote" an extended lunch break i'm sure by most.

New Jersey is the most corrupt state in the country. That said, i voted against Republicans. There was nobody decent to vote for who could possibly win, so i chose to vote against the republican for senator. The Dem is a sleezy criminal, but he opposes Bush, and that's what i voted for.  There were ballot questions that can impact your life, Krissy. Even if you just make a pretty pattern with the green X's, the ballot questions might have been important. Maybe not. wtf do i really know anyway?

Really? I could have sworn it was a neck and neck race between Louisiana and Rhode Island.
