please do not do this without thinking hard and planning well.  if you do something even remote to it, to play with short-term light-headedness from hunger, consider liquids only, like the liquid diet in the hostpital, and ask a doctor or nurse who is "play" friendly to advise. i am guessing you would not want to do this for more than 2-3 days.

and it would be really unadvisable if the starvee is hypoglycemic.

sighs....I dont know...I am not sure what it is you are asking...Are you asking this because you want to lose weight?..Are you asking because it is a fantasy kink?..or is the fantasy kink death?..If I had to look at this as logically as possible without more info..The forced diet question leads me to think you have a weight problem and you wish for someone to take you in hand and make you lose weight..and now you are even desperate enough to consider starvation for a quick fix.....BAD IDEA!...beacuse as I said starvation can and will lead to all sorts of problems down the road including death.....You might want to consider forced exercise?....be healthy and be well...Tempting

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/8/2006 7:14:52 PM)

OK, from personal experience
Forced starvation is the surest way to absolutely ruin a slave. A friend of mine in the lifestyle forced his girl to starve herself for 2 days, as a punishment for a major eatting binge she had gone on while he was away. The damage done was psychological as well as physical, becasue sudden stoppage of food like that causes the body to freak out. Even for weightloss purposes, starvation causes more problems than it solves, becasue your metabolism goes into near hibernation to conserve what ithas access to instead of burning excesses, and the loss is slowed if not stopped al togheter.
Enforced diet is another story.  If a Dom/me is intersted in micromanaging their pets eatting habits, then an enforced diet is not that bad a thing. While the reasons behid the selections might vary, anything from wieght loss to weight gain (I may be pursuing one like that myself for my boy) can be brought about. There is also just simply teaching them to eat better, or enjoying the control of dictating what they are and arent allowed to consume.  As long as the allowed diet is still healthy enough not to be harmful, I see nothing wrong with it. It does, however, take a lot of planning and maintenence, since enforcing a diet is a 3 time a day 7 day a week thing, not counting snacking if allowed. Its a major undertaking for a Dominant, and one that in my experience has never realy panned out long term becaue it just gets boring and tiring. Too much work, not enough payoff, so let the subs and slaves figure their own diets out.

Yeh, my advice would be DON'T DO IT..... it just screams out longterm damage to me.

dvart -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/9/2006 4:05:42 AM)

Don't do it.

Dnomyar -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/9/2006 4:45:50 AM)

To the one who said keep your blood sugar up. Try telling that to a diabetic.

subsa -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/9/2006 5:09:23 AM)

i agree with those who say starvation is a bad idea. the enforced diet can work quite well though.  we practice a mild form of it (with time periods of more intensive practice).  but Master is not responsible for what i eat, i am.  i am responsible for both of our diets actually.  i prepare all of our meals (including packing lunches and snacks).  we do occasionally splurge and there are allowances made for convenience or entertaining if things have been going well.   our goal is healthy eating (which has led to weight loss).  to accomplish this, i keep a food journal with calorie counts that can be reviewed at His leisure.  we have had time periods where it is a daily thing but currently only as needed (if get off track).  we do have bi-weekly 'official' weighings and measurements (which are recorded in my journal).  so far i've lost 20 lbs and 16 inches (from various places) in 4 months. Master has lost about 15.  i recently had blood work done and my doctor wanted to know what i was doing different as there was a huge improvement.  i didn't tell her my motivation but she thought the plan was good.  the basic concept is that half of your meal comes in the form of fruits and vegetables which are eaten first (no, potatoes don't count).

I know the person and the Sub would only want to do this for 2 to 3 days max.......

People fast for all sorts of reasons (including kink) and it can be done for most people without any long term detriment to the person.

But again, if the goal is to enforce long term weight loss or healthy- this is not the way to do it.

I do a 17 to 21 day fast every year, with the exception of this last year due to unrelated medical issues. It is not something you can enter into lightly. There is ALOT of preparation both mentally and physically that needs to be done. It is also a very personal decision that I can't imagine having work well if it were forced.

It is not as simple as don't eat and if it is being done for weight loss you are really barking up the wrong tree as any weight lost will be quickly regained upon the resumption of normal diet. It can be a very dangerous thing to do without proper education, monitoring and nutritional supplementation. When one stops providing the body with the nutrition it needs the body will eat itself...and I am not talking about the fat stores.

I would suggest to the OP to take the time and research the issue, educate himself as much as possible. If it is something that he decides to undertake I would very strongly suggest that it be done under the guidance and scrutiny of a medical professional.

Even in the case of enforced diet, there is much to be considered. It is imperative that you have a good understanding of nutrition....one that goes far beyond "Chicken is good for you" or "I  heard the Atkins diet is good". And in either case, the person who will be doing the dieting or fasting needs to be assessed by a doctor and discuss their detailed plan with that professional BEFORE any major nutritional changes are made.

Only a licensed nutritionists should dictate what a person's diet should be & starvation is the worst thing in the world a dieter should do. You think you got problems now... just wait & see how your body fights back when being starved.

Not eating is actually a very bad way to control you weight -- it will damage a body and may make it harder to lose weight in the future if you ever want to do that because your body will "remember" and change how it processes food in the future to protect itself.

Helping someone diet is part being strong yourself and monitoring your own food in front of them. Imagine how hard it is to not overeat when the rest of your family does or the rest of your family insist you cook them one thing but that you can't eat it yourself? It's a lifestyle change for everyone in the family at least when they are together.

KatyLied -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/9/2006 7:33:20 AM)

That is true.  I think what Tammy is talking about is "starvation mode."  When deprived of food the body goes into a starvation mode.  You can google the words "starvation mode" to learn about this.

Yes Katy, that is correct this "starvation mode" is a survival mechanism from much earlier generations when the food supply was much less certain or available.Cutoff the food and the bod tends to hang on to what it has for a period of time.
My questions are these:Is the forced diet or satrvation a means of control for NWAZ928 or is this a goal of having a real skinny sub?

HaveRopeWillBind -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/10/2006 6:39:59 AM)

If  the point of this is to force a submissive to lose weight then a better idea would be enforced withdrawl from sugar, an enforced healthy appropriate diet such as Atkins, and an enforced exercise regieme. Believe me the exercise will be much more effective than any diet. Don't forget that lots of water helps the body metasticize existing fat cells. Most of all, no soda or sugary fruit juices. I once lost 100 pounds in 8 months with no diet change but cutting out soda and adding exercise. (During this time I could even go to an all-you-can-eat buffet twice a week as was my habit. So there were no cravings.) Cutting down on caffiene can help too as it tends to keep you slightly dehydrated. If the subject is severely overweight or has anything like a heart condition then be sure to bring in a medical professional for advice on appropriate diet and exercise.

byule -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/10/2006 6:54:46 AM)

Maybe some people's taste are skeletons and skin so tight it becomes.......hmm well to each there own. But to start another thread "we hate overweight people" I mean common are you a supermodel? and if you are ewwwwwwwwwww yuck!! Size Zero means just that. They are a Zero.

mistoferin -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/10/2006 6:59:58 AM)

Welcome to the boards. Not wishing to pick on you right off the bat but, there are a couple of things that concern me about your post. #1 is that there is a very large number of health professionals that are of the opinion that the Atkins diet is anything but nutritionally healthy and there are people with certain medical conditions who would be ill advised to use that method.. #2....the word metastacize means to spread to other parts of the body, especially in a destructive manner (as in cancer). I am unaware of it's use in weight loss. Is this the word you meant to use? #3 Regardless of a person's apparent condition, it is good advice for ALL people to seek the advice of nutritional and medical professionals before implementing any major changes in diet and exercise. Sometimes medical conditions are not readily apparent.

rubyleu -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/10/2006 9:03:54 AM)

my brother starved himself when he was much younger. he was curious to know if he could handle it. this had nothing to do with kink. i think he said he lasted 2 or 3 days. he later developed keratokonis, or something like that. its an eye disease, where the cornea is distorted. the doctors told him it was hereditary, but noone in our family had it, not even in the past. he even admitted that it might have been that starvation that lead to that. starving yourself depletes yr body of important nutrients that it needs to function properly, your eyes including. i dont understand what the point is... at least feed them bread and water or something..

HaveRopeWillBind -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/10/2006 9:08:47 AM)

Yes I meant metasticize, fat cells are much more difficult for the body to deal with when they are clumped together, when distributing them throughout the body they are more easily processed and consumed as fuel. Yes, you are correct that Atkins is not for everyone, I simply meant that as an example, not as the panacea.

sissifytoserve -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/10/2006 9:16:20 AM)

Hmmm....

Starvation...or FASTING?

Ive gone on a 20 day fast with mostly fresh vegetaable juices, flaxseed fiber and triple carbon filtered water.

I felt ill for the first 3 days but after that...I felt absolutely fantastic...lost 15 lbs...and felt a tremndous spirituality
inthe last few days before i broke the fast.

I think I'll pass on mixing my personal health choices with BDSM. Doesn't sound like a good idea.

BTW...there are foods that supply all the nutrients your body need that you can use to fast with....such as Bee pollen..
and even moreso.. Goji berries.

Then again....my goal wasn't weight loss....it was detoxification. Ive heard both positive and negative when it comes to water fasts.

I myself don't recommend it.

leatherorlace -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/10/2006 9:19:11 AM)

I wouldn't recommend that the starvee tempt his teethsies with a fat slice of tongue between them. lol
