Yes I meant metasticize, fat cells are much more difficult for the body to deal with when they are clumped together, when distributing them throughout the body they are more easily processed and consumed as fuel.

I'm not trying to tell you that you're wrong....actually I would like to learn more about this process....but I can not find even one reference to this that is not linked to cancer or shown as a positive. Could you possibly point me in the right direction?

yuik -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (11/10/2006 10:18:19 AM)

do it, there was just an article in popular science about starving your way to a healthier life and better sex. now it wasn't starving it involved eating about 650 calories per meal so techniques it was like you were starving but at a very controlled rate and there was nothing but positive remarks about it. its so effective and if you are seriously thinking about it i suggest that way because that way you can make it last longer (one professor has been living that way for 3 years on the 650 calorie meal diet and he swears by it), and you wont wind up with health problems you might even get healthier.

Having enough calories to live and function isn't starving and I'm betting they have to be certain types of calories so you have balanced nurtician. I personally don't wish to micromanage my life or anyone's this much.

I'll say it again, this will really only work in a relationship if you all follow it. Otherwise you will just be offering temptation after temptation.

of course if that is point so you can then punish, not my kink, but at least do it in a healthy way

Looking for any advice or tips about enfoced diet or forced starvation

Only in a society with a surplus of food can this possibly be a fetish.

Indeed.

In most cultures throughout history large people were considered very very attractive because obviously they were either wealthy enough to afford more food or charismatic enough to get others to work and give them food.

I have always believed in the "safe, sane and consensual" yardstick when deciding if something is a good idea or not. Enforced starvation does not sound like any of the three criteria have been met.

After reading through these posts, I do believe my advice will be a synthesis of things already mentioned, but I think they bear repeating when someones health and well-being may be at risk.  I also see fit to wade in as the diet and fitness side of the question is something I have employed upon myself for years, so much of my opinion stems from personal experience.

1. As many have said, starvation is a terrible idea.  Regardless of what your question really was, the best advice for starvation will always be to find a better answer.
2. For an enforced diet you want to emphasize healthy low fat foods and reduce empty calories.  In many cases, and my personal experience, eliminating soda and fast food (I no longer consider these things food) can have a tremendous effect.  I personally took notches off my belt without changing the quantity of food at all, simply by raising the bar for what I considered good food.  If you don't have extensive experience or knowledge, I highly recommend asking a nutritionist for assistance.  In many cases the health insurance where you work will provide you with such an expert for free...because they acknowldege it makes you a healthier person.
3. If the purpose is weight loss and/or improved health, don't neglect the importance of exercise.  When you do, be careful to take into account that new lean muscle adds new (healthy) weight.  During the time period I mentioned losing notches from my belt, I actually gained a pound, but also garnered a drop in blood pressure and compliments from my physician.  Again, if you don't have extensive experience (I've been lifting weights for over a decade) seek the advice of an expert in getting started.  I would recommend a personal trainer, such as those available through Bally Total Fitness, if you plan to add something entirely new.

While I know there are a lot of people insisting that starvation diets are lacking in any sort of value at all.

Gandhi brought the British Empire to their knees with a starvation diet.

I think the only thing he drank was lots of water with lemon in it.

Starvation has it's plac.

Sinergy

p.s. While the previous was tongue in cheek, I tend to think that using them in BDSM or D/s is just odd to me.  The damage done to the human body by this sort of thing may not be recoverable.  I personally prefer to care for my submissive, not destroy her.

I could NEVER do a starvation even though I'm a big woman but I'm a diabetic and need to eat or my blood sugar will drop so low ...I also take meds that require me to eat and drink...I think starvation is VERY DANGEROUS and would not recommend that for anyone.

it can work and i have personal experience of different diets living together, you just have to "champ it up, as we call it", i live on salad, seafood, and the only other meat i eat is grilled chicken and a strip steak here and there, and i live with the only vegan i know who doesnt eat salad. it takes some work and alittle more prep time for meals but its possible.

selfbnd411 -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (4/29/2007 12:56:08 PM)

I've lost piles of weight on a starvation diet.  I did 6 months on under 800 calories a day, and it worked like a charm.  For breakfast, 1/2 envelope of hot chocolate (40 cals).  For lunch, 1/2 a cheese sandwich + a regular coke (350 cals).  For dinner, another half sandwich and coke (350 cals).

But one reason I was able to do it was that I wasn't working, and I was in community college so I didn't really need to think lol.  I got up at 7 AM and I went to bed at 8 PM and never really felt hungry.

I wouldn't recommend it for people who have a job, drive a lot, or have to think.  But basically, if you can let your body shut down a lot of systems then it works well.  After so long on the diet, I found that I couldn't physically eat as much as I used to.  And the weight I lost, I've kept off for 12 years now.

unsung -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (4/29/2007 1:39:00 PM)

not tongue and cheek, nor to steer the opposition but the body has enough fat storage to last 10 days or thereabouts, the body however requires fluid within 2 days.  2 days of starvation is not going to kill anyone, hell I have forgotten to eat for 3 1/2 days several times and I am still alive and well.

My suggestion to the op is research and find out the medical stuff from medical professionals prior to doing this to another.

Oh? I haven't read all of this board yet (as I'm sure I'll disagree with it), but I felt I'd comment. I am vegan; I don't eat salad. Most of the vegans I know also aren't particularly fond of salad. If you think all vegan food must be boring, or must be simply salads, please do some research. I am constantly cooking new things every week, the options are absolutely endless. You don't need to eat animal products to have delicious food. Simple.

LadyMorghanna -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (4/29/2007 2:34:13 PM)

If you starve yourself for too long, the body will take protein by breaking down muscle and internal organs. If you starve, you can develope a vitamin deficiency and your eyes can become very sensitive to light. I was annorexic at one time and my eyes became very light sensitive. To this day I need to wear sunglasses most of the time outside and I see much better at night.

akbarbarian -> RE: Enforced diet starvation (4/29/2007 8:22:02 PM)

So many scaredy cats.  Life is short, we're all going to die, and danger is around every corner.  Live with it, and at least enjoy the kink while you can.  That being said, don't go too far too fast and you can probably do a bit of anything starvation included.  Test the waters.  Starvation isn't really a kink to me, but it does have a certain panache tied to keeping a prisoner in chains with bread and water...now and then.

Don't forget that lots of water helps the body metasticize existing fat cells.

As a medical professional, I'd recommend AGAINST metasticizing fat cells.... or any other sort of cells for that matter ;-)
