ORIGINAL: NWAZ928 Looking for any advice or tips about enfoced diet or forced starvation. quote:
I know the person and the Sub would only want to do this for 2 to 3 days max....... Advice? Don't do it without the assistance of a doctor. You'll want a blood workup up front, esp. kidney function etc.. Possibly loading up on certain micronutrients in advance. Drink water often enough that you don't go thirsty; fluid loss and fasting is not a good combination. Keep the fast short, no more than a few days. Beyond day 3-5 or so, the hunger goes away; this is not a sign that it's okay to keep going, just that the body has shut down lots of stuff to conserve energy. A few days of fasting probably isn't a significant problem if done right. People do that for religious reasons, for the challenge, and so forth; some take an enema up front for some reason (I wouldn't know; I haven't tried it). Remember to start slowly when resuming consumption of food. I've heard yoghurts and other mostly-liquid foods are a good place to start, but a doctor is still the better option. An alternative to fasting is the same diet they use for the "Yamabushi weekend" things in Japan, a bit of a tourist attraction: a bowl of rice and two pickles per day. Should make it a lot easier. And, in case I wasn't clear on it: talk to a doctor up front, and get a blood workup. Most people can take a fasting without too much trouble, but some can't, and those will usually show up on such a workup. HTH
