Last night for the first time, I got to experience fire play with q tips, wand and glove. It really blew me away. It was extremely sensual and erotic and I loved it. I definitely look forward to more experiences with it. For those who have tried it either Top or bottom, how do you feel about it? What was it like for you? Did you enjoy it? Hate it? Fear it? Love it? I'd really like to hear others' feelings about it. I was one of three who got to experience it last night.

Hi, Fireplay, one of my favorite topics! Daddy and I love fireplay, our forte', so to speak, is firecupping done in a way that is totally different than we have ever seen anyone do it. I love the headspace it puts me in as the bottom. It is erotic, it is dangerous. I guess that I feel like it is the most dangerous thing that Daddy and I do. We love electricty and needles and knives, but fire is like having another living thing in the scene, one you really never can have total control over. When I am laying on the table and I hear the fire ... it just gets in my head and away I go. I find it relaxing and stimulating, a bit scarey and a bit fun, it helps me find a place of total trust. A friend has said that she would never be a bottom for fireplay unless she was tied down - to prevent her running if something went amiss. I am never tied and personally would never play with fire, top or bottom, and include bondage. She says the instinct to run is innate and if something goes wrong you will run no matter how well trained you are to remain still. Well, we were doing a demo and something did go amis, the alcohol spilled! I heard the soft whoosh, I heard hands slapping the table and I even heard a whispered .... "they Do have a fire extinguisher, don't they?" Yeah, just what you want to hear in a fire scene! LOL But I remained still, laid on the table and Daddy got it all back under control, no fire extinguisher needed. I would never want a bottom tied so they could not get up if they were told to, but everyone learns and decides things on their own. Please note: we ALWAYS have a 'skin-safe' bakeing soda based fire extinguisher, and a big towel, and at least one spotter who remains just at the edge of the scene to watch for errant trails of fire. Fireplay is something I have really wanted to try for a long time. Totally facinates me. I've always been enamoured with fire and definately look forward to trying it one day. Just need to get Sir to a workgroup or seminar that teaches it weg [;)]

Love it!!! I've done it a couple of times (or rather, had it done to me). The flash cotton and the alcohol with a "baton". The flash cotton is by far my favorite - setting up a pattern and then feeling it move around parts of my body - YUM. The only thing that I struggled with - I was on my back and he put it into my hand and made me watch. Something about that triggered the flight response and I wanted to snatch my hand away. lol There is so much prep that goes into learning how to do this as safely as possible. It's definitely not for beginners.

Its great, I use flash cotton for My fire scenarios. Im quite fond of tyin subs to a chair, blindfolded. Then encircling their nipples with small pieces of flash cotton. As Im about to light it, I slip off the blindfold. WHOOOSHH!!!.. I dont know who gets a bigger rush, Me or them heheh

My Lord has only done this with me once; it is not often that he is in a sensual mood when we are together. He did this with me within the first week that I became his. In fact the first day we met, he took me to a fire play demonstration and made me learn to create my own wands. I was afraid when he did it, but it didn't last too long. It felt like a warm, sensual massage and I loved it. It was especially interesting when he went over scratches and cuts from his fingernails and a knife. I enjoy fireplay quite a bit, and have presented the topic at a number of events. I also use the idea that you have another living thing introduced to your scene when you play with fire. It eats, breaths, and reproduces, so it fits the discription. Fireplay is a huge trust building form of play, the mental aspect of "This person set me on fire and I was unharmed" is huge in building a foundation of trust. Fireplay itslf is really about overcomming a very primal fear at first. Animals fear fire, so it is a primal fear rooted in the very simple part of our brains, and we use the larger more complex part to control the fear within ourselves. Fire also has a spiritulal aspect that you can play with, how many religions have a fire god/ spirit, or have a representation of fire as a cleansing power? The paralell between fireplay and the Burning Bush in Judeo-Christian traditions cannot be dismissed, The Bush was on fire without being consumed, the bottom is set on fire without being consumed. Fire cupping both with the cup placed over the fuel soaked and burning item or with the burning torch placed into the cup for a second and removed has been practiced as a means of removing "bad energy" from the body for centuries. I have done fire scenes that have had various amounts of sensory and spiritual significance, I have worked with folks who have had a pronounced fear of fire and some who have only the last vestages of the primal fear of fire, comming out the other side of the scene the level of trust built has always been a large increase after the first few scenes. Later on the increases are smaller, but the appreciation for the sensation is greater. I have never used bondage in conjunction with fireplay and I have never had a bottom jump up from the table in mid scene due to fear, like any play form regulating the experience makes the flight or fight response something usually within the person's capability. BTW remember that when using Qtips you MUST make sure you are working with paper or wood core sticks those Q tips with the plastic core are a real hazard to be avoided. (personally I don't use them as the fuel amount in a Q tip is too small for my own style).

I don't really know but erm..what is fire play actually? I have this imagine in my head where the person is put on fire but I don't think that's really erotic eh?

... so what I am sensing here is the need to organize a CM fireplay weekend! Maybe include some knifeplay (we end a fireplay scene usually with a good waxing and then knives to remove the wax!) and of course the violet wand since you can use it to ignite flash paper. mmm sounds like fun for all! Fireplay can emcompass so many things. Very basically ... you apply alcohol to the skin and light it. Remember it is the vapors that actually burn, so the flame is minusculy (?) above the skin, but you feel it, warm as it burns. Most of the time this is done with a "fire baton" cotton wrapped and bound around the end of a dowel, dipped in alcohol and used to rub the alcohol across your skin. A second baton is set on fire and used to touch the end of the alcohol trail and it flames and follows the alcohol. The "top" uses their other hand to then run behind the flame to "wipe it out". The flame lasts a second or two and if you are not particularly hairy, nothing hppens to you at all other than the rush. There are many variations. Firecupping is one, devils fire is one, flash cotton, flash papaer can be included, violet wands can be used to ignite it ... there are many ways to enjoy this edgeplay. But please do not try it alone and do not try it without someone there the first time that can really show you. Fire is probably THE most dangerous of all that we perverts enjoy because it really can go wrong, no matter how alert you are. Please always be careful! MsOpal

With this being my first experience, he started with the q tips to see how I liked it first and then as he saw my reaction etc, he moved to the wand and glove. He did my back first, then my front, inner thighs, and the bottom of one of my feet as he knows how much I like having things done to them <grin>. It really does take a huge amount of trust to do that. Safety precautions were in place and used most definitely...no one wanted to get burned or set anything outside of the alcohol on fire. It was so amazing and sensual. It put me in subspace and had me flying.

I agree with you on the bondage aspect. I wouldn't want to be tied during fireplay. Maybe nothing will go wrong, but the potential for accidents is there and I feel much safer knowing I can quickly move or be moved if something does go wrong. It seems a bit like tempting fate to be bound during it. Just my thoughts.

I love it as a top, not really into it as a bottom. I'm usually just cold most of the time since I'm naked, and the firedoesn't really do anything for me mentally as a bottom and when I DO feel anything it jsut feels itchy and over the top- even cupping. But as a top, I love playing with the fire- whether it's flogging, or with my hands, connecting with a bottom through fire is extremely intense for me. It's also a type of play I would discourage someone from doing unless they had a few hours of serious training and practice and not something to do solo for the most part.

I agree...it's not something you can just read about in a how to book and then go do. It's potentially very dangerous. It was a wonderful experience for me and I look forward to more experiences with it in future. I'd love to try both the cupping and the flogging. We have a member in some of our local groups who does fire demos and is very expert at fire play and makes the wands and the fire floggers. He's an excellent teacher of it for others. For you connecting from the Top side is very intense, for me connecting from the bottom is very intense. I let go and hit subspace and the whole experience was so beautiful and awesome for me.
