I wouldn't fret away my teens about the "one that got away".

I'd thank God for unanswered prayers.

Do we get to know what we know now?

That would have to be the case :)  Or, take it as "what advice could you give to yourself as a younger you"?

though there are a few points in my life that would have changed it for the better had they gone differently, i like who i am right now (for the first time in a long long time) and don't want to give that up

When i was in the bottom of a barrel of sorts, i had a roommate who would go around saying he would never take back what he did. Even though his life was homeless on the streets and of criminal sort. He reason was because he like exactly who was, and he changed even just one event he wouldn't be who or where he was. I have taken that on myself. No i wouldn't change any thing. I learned from my down times and love the good times, and i think i am specially unique because of it all.

I would not have dropped school so young.
I would have chosen the Secretary cursus sooner.
I would have a better diet and do more sport.

If I could go back and do it all again, I wouldn't change a damn thing cos I'm really happy with who I am now.

If I could go back and give myself advice..

I have been thinking about this one for awhile now and given my belief system I have to say, nothing.

Even though I wish I never married an abusive man who never loved me but had I not done so...I wouldn't be the person that I am today, much wiser from the experience. I have four beautiful sons from that "mistake" of a marriage so atleast something good came out of it.....I can't tell you how many times I have said "I wish I known then what I know now....." if only I would have listened to others..

I could say things like i should not have  married my ex  but then i wouldn't have my beautiful children. So everything i would change has a consequence and would make  my life very different now.  I like who i am and i feel everything  we go through in life makes us the person we are today. So I wouldn't change a thing.

I write a lot of posts in here giving out "old wise woman" advice....it's exactly what I would be advising myself if I had the chance!

i think i would have talked my grandmother into convincing my parents i would be better off living with her than with them...maybe then i wouldn't have been so abused while growing up.

I think I  would try to stay in better health, and I would be absolutely sure that the people who were important to me all knew it, and knew how much I loved them.
If I had not married who I married at the young age i did, i would not have the amazing adult children I ahve now, who have stood by me in some very bad times!
But all in all, I am who I am, and my life is not too shabby - so despite the angst and bad times, I would not change any of the big stuff.
