I think for the majority of females in the world, if any adjustments need to be made, they can be made unobtrusively, taking a few pills, taking a longer shower, exercising a bit more, etc and require absolutely no change in day-to-day workings. It might be helpful to make your partner aware of your cycle so they can at least understand any crimps that come up, but I don't think it should be cause for any disruption or special accommodations. I do celebrate the period of my life that is fertile and I appreciate this time leading to menopause. I will say that I have a lot of troubles with my periods, having massive hormone fluctuations, two periods a month at times, and extremely heavy bleeding and cramping to an extent that is incivil to post here. I was given an IUD that stops me from having periods because it became dibilitating for me. I notice that many women have more and more trouble with periods as they age. My sister was just told she will need a complete hysterectomy. My mother had one at 40. So while younger women often have little trouble with their periods this is not the case necessarily for older women.
