Actually, I see it as a protection for BOTH parties.. the man and the child.  Things have changed in the world. However, the seating situation should have been seen afore hand and dealt with so to not delay the flight.

This is rediculous, I don't fly B.A. to or from Europe or within Europe. I use Aer Lingus.
And when I fly I request not to be seated next to children or "size challenged" people.
On a flight one time a young boy was acting up next to me so I told him I was Frankenstein's brother and made a scary face at him.
No problems for the rest of the flight.

I tell you what L&M, in all seriousness, British Airways are shit. They really are. The biggest bag of bobby's bollocks you'll ever experience.

On the otherhand, Air France is half the price and they'll fill you full of free beer for the duration of the flight. You can't say fairer than that. A tip for any Americans travelling around Europe - Air France every time.

Naah, there's no luxury on Air France. It's more the case that British Airways charge well over the odds for the same deal. The difference in prices for flights to Dubai is bordering on the ridiculous.

I just like my flights at a reasonable price - the airline could be from Britain, France, Austria or Mars for all I care. Also, the French chuck in as much beer as you want so they're not to be sniffed at.

BAs' days aren't numbered. There'll always be a significant proprotion of Brits who go British because they're idiotic neanderthals who think they have a sense of duty to everything British regardless of the fact they're paying well over the odds. There's also the pull of branding.

NorthernGent, I was being a bit sarcastic there  I totally see your point, and I think the same way when it comes to money (unless the standards are way too low). But even those Britons who like "everything British" will have a hard time having the airline convince them that they could be potential child molestors....
