Seems as if i will be getting piercings soon, if anyone has gone through this how much pain is invoved?

I've had temp piercings in my labia and clithood, they didnt hurt.

I have my nipples pierced, they didnt hurt really either, even after the piercer prepared me by telling me he has had grown men faint having them done.

I think it depends on the piercer.

P.S. Also I have no fear of needles, so maybe that made a bit of a difference.

labia were about '2' on the painscale of 1 to 10.  Toungue painless.  Hood was about 4...but only for a second or two. Nipples....not so good, and horrible the second time around when we had to fight thru the scar tissue.

...and in case you're interested, hood healed quickest, followed by labia, then toungue and..... again, nipples, not so good.

Clithood done, made me go yoweeeee! but only for a second or two. There are tricks though to painless piercings. I have heard some people purchase an over the counter cream that you can spread thickly over the area to be pierced about 20 minutes before the piercing - it numbs the area. And as someone else mentioned the hood healed very quickly, less than a week when I was told 7-10 days.

Piercings done as a part of play, not permanent. The good thing about these kind are, they can be done over and over again [;)]

I had my clit hood pierced and have had some issues with it because the piercing jewelry is too short (pinched the hood up too much and caused some pain)... otherwise it's been a blast to have!  I will be getting my nipples done next, then my bellybutton... (there is a method to His madness)

Find a really good piercer... professional, clean and discreet... it takes the edge off, believe me.

Healing varies from person to person so don't freak out if you don't heal in the time frame that the piercer (or other people) say.  Expect it to be twice as long as the piercer says and rejoice if it is less. :)

i am very seriously considering a frenulum piercing where my Mistress could apply a leash.  i also am very concerned about the pain (i am a devout coward) and have heard from some that penile piercings heal poorly.  As i am also a diabetic any risk of infection is very worrisome to me especially there.  does anyone here have much experience with this specific piercing that they could share with me?

i think frenulum is a tongue piercing and frenum is the penile one you imply.
as a very general statement, piercings with a good supply of blood seem to heal better than those with a less abundant supply. My clit hood healed beautifully, my navel never, ever healed and was eventually removed.
no piercing is a walk in the park - just depends how you get your kicks!

*edited to add it was the ring in my belly button that was removed not the actual  navel!!*

the frenum is the skin that attaches your tongue (it is one of a class of frenums) the frenulum (for my pleasure, anyway) is a big business part on the underside of the penis below the glans, where skin is gathered in toward the slot there, if you understand that.

I'm sort of wistfully hoping that I'll meet a Dom who thinks I should get it done, and would go with me, and hold my hand. [:)]

Actually both the tongue and the penis have either a frenum or a frenulum since both terms describe a fold of tissue anchorng one structure to another.  Frenulum simply represents a diminutive form of frenum.  In my own esperience though in medicine in America the term frenulum is more commonly used for this structure both in the tongue and the penis.  While i have heard of piercing of the frenulum in the penis i had not heard of such in the tongue and would be very concerned about it since that is the route of the vascular and nerve structures for the tongue itself.  There are some mighty big veins running down there.

I've had my nipples done for 3 years now.  It wasn't too bad.  Also have had my clit hood done for 3 years in next month.  That one made me cuss, but only hurt for a few seconds.  I LOVE all three! [:)]

I've had ten piercings, though I unfortunately lost one to rejection after hitting it with the corner of a box while moving- and I was very sad about that.

As far as pain goes, I've found that a lot of times if you are breathing in a controlled way and exhale when they pierce (many piercers coach you through this), it's less painful. Relax as much as you can.

The worst piercing as far as pain goes was my ear cartilage- and the easiest was my navel. Using a 1-10 scale to rate each that I have had:
first ear piercing, each side: 1.5
second ear piercing, each side: 1.5
third ear piercing, right side: 2
cartilage piercing, left side: 4
nostril piercing, right side: 3.5
navel piercing: 1
tongue piercing: 1.5
cleavage piercing: 3.5 (it's a three part piercing, and the third part was the worst!)

All in all, I've had worse headaches- and those don't have the nifty rush afterwards!

I recommend ice cream after all is done. Sweet rewards.
