Okay, coming from another thread on the switches forum ... there are a lot of us who have other hobbies or pursuits that some would consider "geeky" or "nerdy" ...

Now ... I would never out someone for geekiness ;)  But I see no trouble in proudly declaring it for myself and inviting all geeky kinksters (and those that love them) for proclaiming love for all things nerdy.

I like games.  Not so much computer games, but games.  CCGs, RPGs, board games, you name it.

I like to play cards, does that make me geeky?

Hi there fergus,

I too love playing games... not so much RPG's... but I love card and board games, and have to ration myself on computer games like Civ III, SimCity, and even puzzle games like Tetris and Mahjong.  I also really love German board games, which are usually great to play even with 2 people and are both fun and strategic.  My history shows that I have a fondness for 'geeks' for sure... I would have to say I'm completely open to looking for my next subbie 'geek' who could whup my ass at a good ole game of Monopoly, Hearts or Carcassonne.

Well, it depends. I am 35 ... when I am playing "poker" (which is almost never) that would be considered NOT geeky.  At 35, I like to play Bridge.  VERY geeky ;) .... lol all perspective. :)

But don't worry cuddleheart, we geeks would love you if you, yourself were geeky or not!

Toria: Carcassonne??? Now THAT'S Geeky ;)  I love Carcassonne.

Katy, I love scrabble too :)

Hey, this is also open to ALL sorts of nerds!  Computer nerds (which I am not); Sci-fi nerds (which I am not); Miniature painting nerds (which I AM) ... lol, all sorts!

Yay! Someone else that knows Carcassonne!  I don't think thats anymore geeky than playing CivIII or SimCity... grins... course, I'm right there with those too.  I guess I just have my own lil piece of geekiness.... my achilles heel for falling for subbie geek boys I suppose... *sighs softly*

lol, oh far be it for me to judge what is more or less 'geeky'!  If the nerd fits, wear it!

In fact, just played Carcassonne last night.  I like some of the German games too, like Settlers of Catan etc.

Ok, we're a little geeky... five computers, rpg games, cards, chess (yes, I said it), hell, I get all kinds of excited over finding an antique dictionary that I don't have... Scooter, on the other hand, is easily tempted by tech manuals...

I dont know, it could be considered geeky... My boy and I logged 19 hours of our last vacation together playing Dungeon Seige on our little private network in the hotel room. He has been rewarded with permision to go to gaming tournaments and to visit friends who are gamers for weekend trips (where he is for break over Thanksgiving week). We go to hacker conventions together, and we spend more time chatting online than we do face to face...

You know you are a geek when you are sitting on the bed, your boys at the desk, you tell him to do something and he IMs you Yes Maam out of habit *lol*
