ORIGINAL: Archer MajiksSlave, Just wondering what is the idea behind the feeling of offense you would feel if I were to address you as "Good evening slave" (as a title form)with a repectfull nod passing in the dungeon? To me acknowledging the possition with respect, reguardless of what the possition might be is a acknowledgement of truth and in no way means "I'm better than you" or "I out rank you", it simply means I recognize you as a slave, girl, boy, chosen pronoun, and honor your choice. and I am being honestly curious as to the why you would find it offensive? Hi Archer, While I know where your views come from, perhaps I can explain the opposite. To many, d/s is a relational, and not a social, hierarchy. In this belief system, someone is not "a slave" - they are "X's slave" - and for anyone else to treat them as "a slave" - regardless of respect intended - would be inappropriate. For instance, you know me as "Heather, Jeff's slave" (or whatever you call me when I'm not there, lol). But I'm not "slave Heather", no matter what your respect might be for me - I'm "Heather, Jeff's slave". I'll never be "slave Heather", because I'm not "a slave whose name is Heather", I'm "Heather, who is Jeff's slave". I'd undersand your intent if you ever chose to address me in that way, but I'd politely ask you to not do so again. Hope this helps?
