I can't say I have really been influenced by anyone in particular. I go through this adventure much the way I do the rest of life...stumbling from one disaster to the next, enjoying every minute of the ride...even when things are the shits

~smiles...that goes for me as well.

LA is another from the boards that has influenced me here she always seams so wise and knowledgeable beyond her yrs.

I'm only gonna be able to get away with that for another 10 years dammit.

On the other hand people will stop telling me I'm too young to know what I'm talking about, or stop feeding me the stupid cliche "When I was young I thought I knew everything, now I know I don't know anything" and find some other irrational distraction to throw at me when they disagree.

Over the last several weeks I have notices in my posts here how much they have echoed the words of those who have influenced my thoughts and opinions of the lifestyle. Just today I read a post by one of those who I feel has influenced me more then anyone even though we have rarely talked on a one on one basis. Yet I posted to the thread long before they did and their response was pretty much the same.

So I was wondering how many out there find their selves repeating the words of those who they respect and influence them the most. Not only here on the boards but in everyday life interactions with in the community.

I learned a lot from Goddess Dianna Vesta years back, mainly by reading pretty much everything she put out. I was also a strong member of the Service of Mankind Church (which I guess I still am, although not as strongly active), where the whole theoretical construct of an Eden II helped me figure out where I really stood in the context of things. And I'd have to be completely dishonest to myself if I didn't acknowledge that the years of ownership of Mistress Marisha. over me didn't influence me on bdsm, slavery, submission and everything else I hold dear in my life. She doesn't own me these days in a mutual fashion, but even though she left the community a decade ago, she still holds a very strong reign over my thoughts and actions, mainly because she showed me that someone can both love you and hurt you without ever doing it in a way that showed an ounce of disrespect.

The most important people would have to be....(in chronological order)

The random woman on dailyconfesson.com- who confessed she wanted to be a slave, thus making me realise there was a name for what I wanted.

Lissi- the sweetest girl who I have known for years, who has supported and loved me always, and with who I have my first bdsm experiences and fun.

V- The man who raped me under the guise of being someone who would watch out for me and take care of me

Nate- He taught to me love myself all over again, and that being submissive did not have to equal pain and abuse.

My ex-daddy- the one who taught me what it meant to be a little girl

A lot of other people have influenced me in so many ways, but I'll leave it as this short list.

Well to echo KOM, my parents have had the greatest influence on me and my views, they taught me to be strong, to fight for what I believe and to please please go into life with a lot of common sense. Now as far as WIITWD..my connections are somwhat limited so hence most of what I have compiled and learned has been from CM..so there are many posters that have made me pay attention to rethink certain mindsets and keep an open mind..The few I will mention are to my mind a wealth of knowledge and common sense..LA..who has many times made me think outside the box and to be less rigid in my thinking process..Padraig..for his common sense and intelligience he has clarified many a thought for me...KOM..many times he has made my head hurt with trying to keep up, but his continual pushes to delve deeper into any issue has effectively caused me to do just that!and Lady Hugs who I adore with her natural gentility, she I feel brings a grace and dignity to life in general...Tempting

Once again KoM you have given me something to reflect on. I had never thought of my parents as someone who has influenced me in the lifestyle. Yet they taught me many of the things you talk about such as work ethic and integrity.

So THAT'S where my "Bitch Switch" side came from! *thinking back on my mother's behavior toward my father*

My slave, coca, has been the biggest influence in this lifestyle but also in just being me.
I've learned a lot from all those who post on CM.
And I've been influenced by all the books on Ds I've read, especially those by Elise Sutton and John Warren.

Absolutely - as new as i am, there have been many who have taught me - most through positive words and experiences, and some through examples of what not to be or how to act.

i wish to acknowledge a few here who have been kind enough to share their experiences and wisdom -

To: Mistress Hathor who is no longer on our boards - i will be forever grateful to You, Ma'am for Your care and wisdom in mentoring me for several months.

To: All the Doms/Masters who helped me learn about my own limits before i was captured by Master.

To: slavejali who's insight and humaness have always inspired me to reach into myself more deeply and serve my Master more devotedly.

To: Mercnbeth: who took the time to respond to my need to understand Master more deeply.

To: Ladyhugs: Thank You, Ma'am for Your incredible history and wisdom.

And to all of Y/you wonderful people on these boards for sharing Y/your joys and sorrows, wisdom and questions.

And to you, aurora for bringing this topic here so close to O/our American Thanksgiving day.

Thank You *bowing in respect* ---- slavemaia

I dont think theyres any one person on this board that I could say thats really influenced My views on the lifestyle. Mainly because we all have different views on how we live it. I will say though that I enjoy a number of posters on here. The interesting topics and exchanges is what a forum is all about, irregardless that at times we all tend to 'agree to disagree'. If I had to name name's outside this board I would say picking up the book SM101 by Jay Wiseman back in 94 has been most instrumental in My growth as a Dominant. Others would be Race Bannon (Learning The Ropes), Christine Abernathy (Concise Slave Training). Oh, and Stewie  heh

I do not mimic anybody or repeat their words etc. but TwiceHappy was real helpful to me behind the scenes. She pretty much knew me better than I did (lol) and helped me understand abit more about myself and helped define what I think my needs are.

Reading the boards has been real helpful....some folks just seem to know how to put things into words where it all becomes clear.

PS....Twice...if you read this....Thanks!  BTW...I just scored a '39 choppa of the knucklehead variety!...(hehehe)
