quote: ORIGINAL: aurora31 So I was wondering how many out there find their selves repeating the words of those who they respect and influence them the most. Not only here on the boards but in everyday life interactions with in the community. Many people who are both in the lifestyle and who are not have influenced my choices both positively and negatively. I am sure there are many people who influence me without me even realizing it. However, these are a few of the people that came to mind when I read your question. My father taught me what it was to be domineering. My uncle, taught me about respect, honor, loyalty, what true strength was, and what true dominance was.He also taught me that life is full of grey areas, that in the end I had to be true to myself. Master Lawrence, taught me so much about myself and helped me to accept myself. He also taught me it was okay not to accept certain behavior even from your Dom. Spawn, taught me scene etiquette, about gorean philosophies, rituals, and protocols, he opened my eyes to what it felt like to be owned and what it took to own a slave. He taught me to embrace both my sadistic side and my masochistic side. Julie was one of the first women I ever meet who considered herself a natural slave. She taught me the difference between being a slave and being a doormat. Although I wish that lesson was not so hard on her physically, mentally, or emotionally. Master IronBear, taught me so very much over the years of knowing him both about the gorean lifestyle and life in general. My Master, Phoenix teaches me every day.He has taught me to allow people to love me, to get close to me. He has taught me tact (a very HARD lesson for me).
