ORIGINAL: caitlyn I'm not sure how you see it that way, although you have some pretty accute tunnel vision on this matter. You seem to be willing to let half my state flounder, in support of that tunnel vision. BAAAAAD Popeye. [;)][;)][;)] The ones that were voted in, are the Democrats that support the guest worker program. The ones that were voted out, were the Republicans, that didn't. The guest worker will pass easily in the House, with some initial posturing in the Senate, and the President will sign it. Expect this sooner than later ... both the Democrats and the President want a quick, easy win, to show they are working together. Caitlyn, you're half right. The Iraq war played a big factor in getting republicans voted out. The Republicans were also voted out because they were not doing their job. And we're not finished yet! In 2008 we're going to get rid of Senator Lindsey Graham (R.?) in this state for voting for that "Amnesty" Bill in the senate despite upwards of 90% of S. Carolinians being against it! Of course he's taken money from the big home builders and construction companies here who break federal law and hire illegal aliens. Funny, didn't a congressman just go to federal prison for doing the same thing- selling his vote? "Cunningham?" Graham is another one who doesn't listen! He'll be listening in November of 2008 I bet. Our senators and congressmen are voted into office to do OUR bidding, not to tell US what to do! Every once in a while they get off the track like recently and we have a "purge." People need to be reminded occaisionally that congressmen and senators are not part of the management, they are the hired help. The American People are the management. I'd be very surprised knowing all this and seeing what the American voter can do when they're angered that Speaker-elect Pilosi would propose any type of worker program seeing that a large majority of the voters are against it. Like the old saying goes; "You ignore the American People at your political peril." Caitlyn, as for "tunnel vision" do you think it's too much to ask for American Citizens to expect their govt. to do the job we elected them and are paying them to do? Should they listen to the American People or should they sell their votes to corrupt businesses who want to continue to break our laws? And of course those companies are "passing along the savings to the consumer," right?
