SweetDommes -> RE: If femdoms chose nicks like male subs... (11/24/2006 8:40:50 PM)

Our name was actually chosen for us by a submissive friend of ours about 6 years ago, shortly after we began our search.  We were originally "TwoSweetDommes" in the yahoo chats, and shortened it later.

As for the names of people that we choose to talk to .. names that aren't "straponslut" or similar are going to attract us more.  A few that have caught our interest are "SubDisposition" and "SubmissiveSoul4U" - something that says they are submissive, but not just about a fetish ... although I have gone to some that were very fetish oriented just for amusement factor LOL

I've seen a few femdom nicks that sound like "job descriptions" but not as many.  How would submissive men react to femdom nicks like "Fem2crushballs" or "Mistress4tinydicks" or "StrapOnGoddess" or "MylatexdickinURhole"...

Any other interesting nicks that could get special attention online?

I think we should all take Native American-style names.  "She_Whips_Bitches", "Wears_the_Boots", "Pisses_on_Daddy".

Mine would be "Talks_Too_Much".  [:D]

WONDERFUL QUESTION![:D]
I try to TOTALLY avoid submissives that have names that sound like a job description!
I am going to make up a few examples, of names that would make me run:
sub4feet, sub4cbtOnThursdays, sub4OnlyThingsIwanttodo, LOL
Many here are delusional!

Femdoms, what do you think of male submissives that have nicknames that are more like job descriptions?  Does it make you prejudge the submissive in some way? Do you feel more inclined to respond to a submissive with a "normal" nick like "richard 887" or reflection of a hobby like "lacrosseboy44" vs. a name like "buttsniffer" or "balls4fem2bust"?

I tend to avoid male submissives that have nicknames that are more like job descriptions.  This is particularly true if the nickname suggests an activity that I am not fond of or is a hard limit for Me, such as "babytimmie4u" or "yourcuckold."  Even when the nick suggests an activity I enjoy, such as "urfootwrshpr" I am still apprehensive because the sub may be focused only on that one activity, whereas I enjoy a wide variety.  I might still read the profile and see if the sub does in fact have interests beyond what his nickname implies, or possibly question him about it.  Sometimes I get mail from subs with nicks that are vulgar, sexually explict, or insulting, and I always ingore these.

See, and from the submissive side, if i were looking for a Domme and saw someone with a screen name suggesting an activity that i really enjoy, it would definitely catch my eye and make me want to learn more about her. Compatibility, yay. It also seems almost like a time-saver to be able to know right off the bat that someone is very enthusiastic about something that is a hard limit for you. Incompatible, to hell with her!

Leeeet's hear it for practicality!

Techyon -> RE: If femdoms chose nicks like male subs... (11/25/2006 1:59:34 AM)

See, and that's what I thought "profiles" and "conversation" was for - to see if folks were compatible enough to move along.   Silly me.

lateralist1 -> RE: If femdoms chose nicks like male subs... (11/25/2006 3:06:48 AM)

Well now I seem to have got it all wrong.
I'm a Domme. I'm looking for a slave for life.
I want a slave who likes/loves me enough to give me everything that I want with no particular expectations for himself other than to enjoy my happiness.
When I find one. If he is the right one for me  I will collar and brand him. Of  course I will do everything in my power to make him happy as well.
I wouldn't be a very nice person if I didn't want him to be happy.
And I certainly don't want him to be miserable.
Who wants to be with someone who is miserable?
Of course that person may not be out there.
But there is no harm in looking now is there?
Actually there is probably more than one out there but it's all about timing.
A man may know that is what he ultimately needs to make him happy but vanilla needs get in the way.
A lot of men need to be successful in vanilla life.
It sometimes only after they have done that they realise that vanilla rewards don't actually make them happy.
This lifestyle is about TPE for me. 24/7 365.
Of course you have to know exactly what you want before you can even start to look for the person who can give it to you.
Take care
Mistress Lizbeth

ooooo I'm one to talk about a screen name < laughing > I gotta say though, I tend to avoid job discriptive screen names, yanno, kinda like mine < more laughter>. Go figure. I don't look at the profiles and do avoid ones that state what their preferences are and it's a hard limit for me. I answer the ones with creative non-sexual names.
As I've said before, I thought long and hard before I chose this screen name. It's implications and exactly what purpose it would serve and I find it's serves me quite well. Usually lets me know the cyber people and HNG's right off the bat so I can say no thank you in just one email exchange. What a time saver! Draws the people whose main focus is this and not legs, etc. It also shows who can start and carry on an intellegent conversation in spite of the name.

Sure, but my point was that on a site like this with many thousands of contributors, if i'm looking for a Domme who likes bondage, i'm going to check out "MistressOfRopes" profile the second i see the screen name, whereas i might have to read a few dozen interesting posts from "Pat" before the name registers and i investigate further. Profile and conversation are more like second and third-layer filters.

You're one to talk.... As if "The" is not obviously trolling.......

Butt sear-iously, I always find it entertaining when people focus on their one fetish, especially when they realize they're not the only one and have to add a number (Oldspicedeodorizedarmpitfartsniffer69691976)

Actually the story behind my adding the "the" to my nick or id is that I used to be able to just have my name as my name on website then I started finding another TammyJo! No, no, no, I wanted to keep using name so I added the "the".

LadyJulieAnn -> RE: If femdoms chose nicks like male subs... (11/25/2006 7:38:04 AM)

I never really cared for the obvious sexual nickmanes online.  The typical "slaveboy" nickmanes don't do anything for me either, but I was fortunate to find my "slaveboy125" because of how he presented himself beyond the nickname. [:)]  I used to get excited when I saw a nicknames with "UK" in them, because I have a thing for English guys.

Be well,
Julie

I've always thought that I might do better with the hard core whores if I changed my nick to

CrazyWithPeanuts

any thoughts?

Honestly, I don't think this is a realistic measure of compatibility at all, any more than the picture on her profile would be.  People babble on and on about how important physical attraction and instant kink compatibility are--they babble on and on a few seconds later about how disappointed they are in their latest attempt with the object of a Shallow Selection.

"Oh, poor me!  Why can't I ever find The One?  Why do I always pick/get picked by the wrong person?  Lied to again!  Cheated on again!  Charged 300 bucks again!  Abandoned for the vanilla lover again!"  Etc etc ad nauseam...

People are more than their appearance.  People are more than their kink.  If the only thing it takes for someone to be "compatible" with me is a look at my exterior shell and a few sexual hobbies in common, that person is looking for an empty relationship--and he's going to find it, over and over.  If not with me, then with the girl who posts a decent picture and puts up the screen-name "Binding_Babe".

I admit I do have my suspicions when I see nick names like "buttsniffer" - - off hand I wonder whether a single's sex website would be more befitting to them than a BDSM website.  Although I know there's a chance I could be wrong,  I still won't  bother to read their profiles when the nick name is that obnoxious and explicit to me.

Actually, to get to the nickname, there has to be the search, and the right timing, and they have to advertise on the right site, and the age range, and the picture, and a few more.

Really, profiles are a fifty-seventh layer filter, and conversation three-hundred-eighteenth layer.

Sorry, people, but we have to prioritize.

benji
