Absolutely Lashra; as I said, its just my experience as a closet insider in a few instances and my acquaintances may well be very unrepresentative of the whole and reacting to past hostility shown against them.

The funny thing is, which didnt get mentioned above, if you are an insider to their group, they're all perfectly nice and normal. But personally I dont like bitchin' behind peoples backs from anyone, friend or not, and thats what I saw.

I'm gonna incur the wrath of every lesbian on the thread now, but in my experience lesbian women are amongst the most hostile and unpleasant people I have ever come across. <snip>

Usually people are angry from either feeling like a victim or a failure of their expectations being met.   They play this out in thier every interaction with others.  It is a personal problem which they've yet to find the solution.  Given some intellect one might come to understand the feelings of another and find it perfectly fine that they are different and know that difference does not mean that it is a threat to them, their way of life, or belief system.

<snip>I've seen it, but never experienced it against me, directed at trans people, gay men, heterosexuals and especially bisexual women. It may be more a case of reaction to past experience rather than action, may be done with a first strike or fortress mentality, but honestly, the prejudice and hostility I have seen is breathtaking. <snip>

I am not much on predjudices for any of the above reasons.  I am prejudiced against people who have offensive, abrasive, caustic attitudes or behave rudely.  People of this mind set are truly their own worst enemy in my opinion.  It does not seem that they possess peace nor happiness within.  I have a very wonderful, creative close friend who is pre-op TS lesbian sub with a beautiful and tortured soul.  Living with unacceptance all of your life for what you in your heart are is a difficult path to take.  To me people are not nationalites or sexualities, but personalities and attitude, there in lies their attractive or unattractiveness.

<snip>So to the OP - dont sweat it, honestly. If my experience is anything to go by, if you werent bi, you'd be getting it for some other reason no doubt. And just be thankful youre not a bisexual, trans switch - 'cause that would tick all the boxes! <snip>

Once again....someone we might have believed we might find open minded is anything but.  As a natural analyist I find that usually there are unresolved underlying issues in these individuals and they often don't even realize it.  Live your life as meets your needs and ignore those who can not feel happy about your happiness......  Chances are, what ever it is that we look for, we will find it.

Hi Guide

I'm confused; are you saying you think me closed minded because I posted my experiences along with the usual indicators that they were only my experiences, likely unrepresentative and definitely explicable?

Are you saying you think me offensive, abrasive, caustic and rude for posting what I did, in the way I did it?

In such case, then you might want to look back through my other 18-1900 posts on this site since June, before making closed minded judgements about me.

Sure I have unresolved issues, but not in this direction I'm afraid; do you think the police would invite me to advise on LGBT matters at the highest level of strategic and tactical planning, if that were the case? do you you think they'd refer LGBT victims of crime to me for counselling, if that were the case?

Show me anyone with unresolved issues, and I'll show you a psychopath; about the only people in the world who have it all figured out.

This is the thing about "groups" if you belong to the group life is usually good, if your on the outside your viewed in a different light totally. I hear you on that one.

LadyEllen,

Take a deep breath.  You know how the boards work, anything you say can make anyone upset.  It happens to us all.

Some of us love you ... not anyone I know, but some people  (you know I'm just kidding you ;-P)

LadyEllen -> RE: Bi Vs Lesbian, Switch Vs Dom/sub? (11/28/2006 7:22:42 AM)

I know TGD.

Its just that if I am to be described as caustic and offensive, then I might as well be!?

E

PS - some peope love me? Hey, I thought everyone loved me! Whats not to love!?

Heh, I guess I'm really screwed. [:)]

I'm trans, switch, and bi.

Nobody described you as caustic and offensive.  She said "I am prejudiced against people who have offensive, abrasive, caustic attitudes or behave rudely."  not "this is what I think about you."

If you go looking for insults, you're going to 'find' them everywhere.

Nah. They just don't care [;)] (They also make very good CEOs)

It always seems odd to me.. I mean, you don't see really autistic people having a dig at high-functioning autustics for being fence sitters, do you? [;)]

Mind you, I can't stand D/s people going on about 'twue' subbiness or domliness either, or gay people bitching about 'fake' gay people. I also think everybody was a real cock to Rousseau for not being a 'real' artist.

I don't give a damn whether people think I'm a fence sitter (there's actually a loose panel by the hedge, if you were wondering), that's their issue - not mine. I'm in pursuit of happiness, and excitemennt, and godsdammit - FUN.

Miserable gits and party poopers can go hang in the kitchen and moan about the music and the smoke. [:)]

Minority outgroups often seem to be the worst when it comes to their own outgroups - having been treated badly by the larger in group doesn't make it ok to imitate that behaviour. (You can insert a snarky and contentious comment about child abuse here if you like)

But what will happen to the switches that seek all us.. one dementional..stick in the mud Dom'/mes or submissives.. because they DON'T want a partner that switches.

I'm getting sick of the "oh I''m so wonderful because I'm just everything to everybody because it's all about me and my enjoyment and needs" then whine because they can't find a partner!  I'm trying to understand it all.. but you folks just make me squirt blood out of my eyes at times.

ScienceBoy -> RE: Bi Vs Lesbian, Switch Vs Dom/sub? (11/28/2006 5:08:44 PM)

So some switches can choose not to be switch, and still feel good about things. So what? I used to be happy just being sub, but now switch cause tying people up is also fun [:D]

But if they're whingeing about it and doing nothing... Fair go [sm=applause.gif]

I don't think most switches think people who ain't are worse people for it either. They sure do hate black people though! [;)]

funny. I thought being a switch meant we were superior beings. You mean Im wrong? Hardly.

I'm gonna incur the wrath of every lesbian on the thread now, but in my experience lesbian women are amongst the most hostile and unpleasant people I have ever come across. Quite why this is, I dont know - unrepresentative sample perhaps, but those I've known have generally demonstrated a whole new (to me) level of bitchiness about others who might fall into the LGBT category, and about anyone else who crosses their path too.

I've seen it, but never experienced it against me, directed at trans people, gay men, heterosexuals and especially bisexual women. It may be more a case of reaction to past experience rather than action, may be done with a first strike or fortress mentality, but honestly, the prejudice and hostility I have seen is breathtaking.

And how do I see it? Because, though I'm trans, the lesbians I have come across had no idea of my background, assumed me to be one of their number, and so had no reason to hold anything back. The biggest joke being the way they bitched about trans women, with me there! Its never to anyone's face or in their hearing though.

So to the OP - dont sweat it, honestly. If my experience is anything to go by, if you werent bi, you'd be getting it for some other reason no doubt. And just be thankful youre not a bisexual, trans switch - 'cause that would tick all the boxes!

And to all the lesbians who are going to flame me half to death who are nice people, I'm speaking from my (limited, if a dozen instances is limited), experience only, and I'm sure there must be some very nice lesbian women in the world. Just, I've never come across them. And if anyone checks, yes I'm registered as female lesbian - but thats another story.

E

You won't get my wrath here because Ive seen it myself and dont quite understand it as lesbians are often discriminated against themselves.  Let's just call it for what it is ~ ignorance and one making snap judgements with no factual knowledge or the lack of granting themselves the opportunity to find out because they are narrow-minded buttholes.

Thanx for your response but one doesnt have to be of a certain prefence to ignorant.

LadyEllen -> RE: Bi Vs Lesbian, Switch Vs Dom/sub? (12/1/2006 5:58:31 AM)

Exactly LBO. As a m2f I get to hear about all sorts of crap directed at us "freaks", and I'm sure just as much crap comes out of our group because of those attacks, as well as because of ignorance. I note it, and try not to get involved in it, but in the end what is, is, and there is no sense in hiding that fact - better to expose it and deal with it, in the same way one would deal with male chauvinism, racial prejudice and a million and one other examples of like nature.

jthorne -> RE: Bi Vs Lesbian, Switch Vs Dom/sub? (12/1/2006 7:19:33 AM)

SamKeithsslave - as a lesbian I will tell you that bisexual women get shit because it has become trendy for girls to make out with one another and "play" at being bi. Also many trendy bi women are "bi" simply because they get off more that way. Those of us who are homosexual feel such behaviour demeans us by association and pegs those with alternative sexualities as sex-hungry, unfeeling, unsafe individuals. It threatens everything we've worked so hard to achieve.

Some people really are bisexual, completely and totally. You are probably one of them. But the "pick a side already, greedy" part is for those trendy bi girls bringing those of us who are legitimately attracted to women down. I know some people do believe there's only straight or gay, but hey....closeminded much?

As for the switch part, no, I don't get shit for it. I guess I'm just good at playing both sides *laugh* If criticized for not picking a side, I'd assume the other person was threatened by my competency and probably say so, shutting them down and walking away.

jthorne -> RE: Bi Vs Lesbian, Switch Vs Dom/sub? (12/1/2006 7:23:11 AM)

LadyEllen, I'm going to say you need to find different lesbians to meet, as you seem to have stumbled upon my sisters with the Eternal PMS Problem. (No, those of us who are fairly laidback don't like them either.)

LadyEllen -> RE: Bi Vs Lesbian, Switch Vs Dom/sub? (12/1/2006 7:47:45 AM)

Hi Jthorne - I didnt say I didnt like them; it was the backbiting and bitching I didnt like

lateralist1 -> RE: Bi Vs Lesbian, Switch Vs Dom/sub? (12/1/2006 8:05:51 AM)

It has taken me a long time to put labels on myself. I have finally had the courage to do so. My reason has always been but they might not like me if I tell them who I am.
I have decided it is better not to be liked than to have other people sticking labels on me.
No doubt some will anyway but I now get in first.
I am dominant and polyamorous and bisexual.
Oh by the way I'm a nice person which is actually what matters most to me.
But do you know what I actually make mistakes sometimes and I can't do everything well.
I will never worry about what labels you put on yourself but I will not be happy with you if you don't want to listen and learn from other people. But everyone here does so I am happy with you all.

This is different from anyo ther group here?

In fact I'd say the percentage of whiny/complaint posts from strictly doms and subs bitching about not finding a partner or not responding to emails is a heck of a lot higher than switches.
