General Reply to OP: I havent read the whole thread here, except for about the first page. I think people, not websites are responsible for their own safety. I mean...there are "predators" everywhere, in all walks of life, not just in bdsm forums. I dont see how the OP can hold a particular website accountable for not protecting it's users. Or why alt or b.com or whatever are being trashed by some people. If you dont like a site, dont use it. I dont understand the urgency of the message here, or what the 'warning' is all about.

I agree with Marietoo. I did read the thread, but I don't get the gist of it. I was hoping there was some links to other websites that were as cool as CM here. But I don't want or need anyone claiming to be "guard" to stand up for me and try to protect me! Uhm, especially from a site on the _internet_ that I can click the X on the top of the screen to close at any time. I signed up for b.com, didn't find it very tasteful so I don't go there. Dear Sir Discipliner, Of course, this is a reality. I do not deny this. I do not also view it as evil to make a profit off services provided. I do not disagree with any of the statements you have made in your comment. I do not also believe it is a site's responsibility to babysit their members, but what I oppose is their targeting of a group who seeks to do so. There are other issues, not related to BDSM at all, but to customer service, that many do also take issue with. ALT is a poorly run company that has gotten so large, it has lost sight of the importance of those they make their money on. Historically, companies like this eventually fold. Smaller companies, which do focus on customer service eventually take over the market. And the cycle rotates, over and over, yes, I do know this too. Sometimes the cycle is broken. Sometimes. And, in 100% of the cases where the outlet is destroyed, but not the demand, it comes back in another form. However, by then, the Dog-Ooder has a fait accompli, and can proclaim their victory from the balcony, but also claim that the battle has only just begun. I would like to point out a major difference I have noticed while reading your comments to this post, and then, if everyone would like, I will continue to try to answer individually, although answering the same questions is somewhat a waste of time. The overall tone of the other sites, and ALT in particular, is that of submissive players who top from the bottom. Oh yea, I know I am going to piss off many, but I am pleasantly surprised by the leadership role of the Male Dominants on this forum, and secondarily, the female Dominants. There also seems to be more respect demonstrated here, with some exceptions. I thought I would add this thought, to either piss you off or offer words of praise, born of My observations of this site in the short time I have been on this forum. I am not new to this site. I have read this forum before and had even posted. What I mean by traditional BDSM values are ones that those I have given praise to, will agree. Yes, this does mean embracing some of the Old Guard concepts. (*ducks). No one from TIC will attack any of you, so you may put away your spears and daggers. No one is going to tell you how to live the lifestyle. We are only interested in those who are of like mind. To some, the very thought of honor and integrity is so foreign, they can not begin to grasp it. This attitude is spawned by the living of a bitter and unfair life, which I do understand. I am not a Do-Gooder. If you knew Me, that would not be a term you would use, but, as was said above, in time... I am not going to go anywhere. I have been up against the likes of all of you, and people like you. There is a common cross-section of individuals here and I am familiar with each mind-set. I refrain from using overly intellectual language because I do not desire to puff Myself up, but to be understood by all people. I applaud those who are well-versed in philosophy and commend those who are well-read. Not everyone is of this motivation. Lastly, I am surprised at some of the judgmental comments here. I realize you have your own little cliques and groups here. We do not seek to upset your groups, nor do we seek to judge you. As a side note, I would be more than happy to meet with any of you, real time, should you reside in the New York area. The first annual party of The International Core was originally set to be held at Paddles in NYC, but it was too small. It was moved to the largest private Dungeon in Manhattan and co-sponsored by one of the largest Fetish organizations in the Northeast. As far as the website. No, I did not think you would find the website impressive, and it is a good thing. If it were too commercial and clean looking, there would have been much more to say about this, no? The actual content exists on the forum. Yes, a php forum. Again, decide which arrows to shoot and which targets you prefer. I do not ever think one can please everyone, all of the time.
