dc, you wouldn't be trying to snow us with something about the Feds shutting down for those days, now would you?

You got it, Lance. It was the first time since anyone's kept track that weather closed the federal government for four consecutive days.

Your turn!

Hint # 1: A unique quartet and the answer has a quartet within a quartet.

Those are Roman numerals for 1, 50, 5, & 10.

C'mon fluff, you know me better than that.

Hint #2:  What makes these four Roman Numerals a unique quartet is that they were recently used for the first time in a special way.  They appear in alphabetical order to disguise the order in which they appeared.

fluff, thanks for doing that.... (bumping it "legally") I was just about ready to offer the hint.  I'm suprised that dcnovice (being snowed in with plenty of time) didn't answer yesterday. LOL!  I would've prefered something more like "first time the Super Bowl had a number that can be written using those four numerals, each just once."

dc: since you're "moderator" of the game, do you want to proceed or should I wait for you or fluff or anybody to get the BONUS points for the quartets within the quartet?

MUST leave without waiting for your answer, dc.

Well, fine.... just fine.

XLIV = 44, so there's a pair o'fours......
But, there's only FOUR ways to write a number using those four Roman numerals, each once.  Those four numbers (in Arabic numerals) are 44, 46, 64, 66 - see? Another quartet - and within those four are FOUR occurances of the digit 4.  Fascininating, n'est-ca pa?  Oh, alright.... maybe (just maybe) I was the only one that found it fascinating. LOL

We now continue with the regularly scheduled game......

Brava, Holly! They're part of a group known as the North American Martyrs or Canadian Martyrs.

Your turn, Ma'am!

We haven't heard from Holly, so anyone who has a quartet handy is welcome to post it.
