I've missed y'all, too.

Somehow, my subscription notifications got turned off.....

My next quartet has been burnt a hole completely through my pocket, and I thought, "What the heck? Has everyone given up on quartets?"

Any-who-I've got the RIGHT answer (Thanks google!) and the next quartet - HARD and HOT,..... er..... you know what I mean.... ready to go.

Sorry, dc. But I need to get outta here, and fluff needs something to "suck on."  Jeeze, I thought she was more of a lady. LOL!

I know I'm right, so here's my next one:

Alaska
California
Illinois
Louisiana

On, stop with the groaning.  We haven't had any geography ones for a while.  Oh, first clue:  NOT about borders or measures of  land or maps or "actual" geography. (Which, if you remember, is Greek for "earth-drawing.")  More about the kinda thing we get from dcnovice, what with him living in the US capital and all.

Plenty more states could be on this list....

Diagonal roads in Washington, DC, that are named for states.  Most are Avenues, but California is a Street and Ohio is a Drive.

Who knew?  Nice research, but not what I have in mind.  Sorry, but my clue wasn't that "direct."  I meant to direct y'all to the state capitals (as opposed to the US capital.)  And maybe when I said, "not about maps" that might have dis-allowed street names which are on maps......  Now I've got you thinking.... well, at least fluff.  Anyone else out there?

ETA:  Not sure how many diagonals are in Washington, DC.  But I'll tell you this - I was totally amazed at how many states share this factoid about their respective capital cities.   I would've thought it was a minority, maybe oh, about ..... FOUR!  Nope, it's the vast majority.

Now 3:30 AM local time.  Can't sleep and more 'tis a pity since I have a totally full day and can't get near a computer, much less near CM.

BIG hint for the day..... look a list of state capitals.  Get it?  "BIG hint"

:: SIGH :::  Really, Lance..... sometimes you have trouble striking the balance between unique, obscure, and just plain impossible. LOL!

The Capitol city is NOT the largest city in the state.

And Miss fluff is able to penetrate the mind of Mr. Hughes once again..... yep!  Now all I want to know is "how the heck?" because I really thought "we" all playing (and maybe it is just you-n-me, babe) would be back-n-forth at least a couple of go-rounds. LOL!

Take it away, m'dear.

I don't think New Jersey does.

Not borders, not Civil War, not the War of Northern Agression.

Clue #1

All 4 states have something that uses the common thing.  3 states "somethings" connect, the 4th state does not connect but still uses the common thing.

Yes, DC, but the North still won.
