This is a lame guess, but wanted to see if we could get the thread going....are they stages of creativity?

A worthy guess! But no. In this case, we are looking at a word game. The same change to each of the words will change them to different words.

Exactly!

They then become down, dwell, danger, and dart.

Your turn, dc.

When i was a little girl it was sometimes hard for me to say the complicated words that my Father was using to tell me what part of what we were listening to was called.  You have to understand that was back in the days of 78's.  Daddy would put records on the changer to play while we ate our supper and we had to be absolutely silent while they played.  We lived near Philadelphia and often went to the Academy of Music to watch Eugene Ormandy conduct symphonies by famous composers.  Anyway, he told me that the parts of a symphony had names but they sounded like they were going fast, slow, dancing, and fast.  He also told me that sometimes a composer would make the slow portion out of a single string of notes and then make them fancier in different ways - that was called variations.

Well, something to do with stocks or the Dow, obviously.

Kraft Foods (KFT, news, msgs), Travelers (TRV, news, msgs) and Cisco (CSCO, news, msgs) are the most recent changes to the Dow, made last year, replacing bailed-out busts American International Group (AIG, news, msgs), General Motors and Citigroup (C, news, msgs). Chevron Corp. and Bank of America Corp. were added on Feb 19, 2008.

So most recent companies added to the Dow Jones Average?

For that matter, they all use the letter "i" too, but something more substantial than that, please.

They are the four steps to something specific.
