Stegosaurus
Hypsibema missouriense
Pleurocoelus
Triceratops

Sorry, I'm late in posting.... I've been having WAY too much fun over at the "Charter Members" string.

Anyway, BIG clue!  There's seven on the "full" list.  These four were picked out for a unique geographical reason.  The other three are separated from these four as East is separated from West. (3 to the East, 4 to the West.  But that line of separation has NOTHING to do with the answer I'm looking for - it was just convient that 4 to the west made a quartet.)

By the way, turns out states have "state fossils."

http://geology.about.com/od/regional_geology/a/statefossillist.htm

Why, I can't imagine.

Sure, States have State Fossils, but what are these four?  They are NOT State Fossils.

Why do States have State flowers, birds, rocks, minerals, etc.?  Because usually the vote is lop-sided and the politicians can say "See, I was bipartisian on Bill #123." LOL!

OK, but I'm gonna take care of this right now---

My home flower is the apricot blossom, my home bird the red-tailed hawk, my home rock is limestone, and my home mineral is iron.

I do not, however, and do not intend to have, a home fossil.

This vote was reached unanimously.

HUH?  What is the answer to the quartet, MM?  I got lost in your answers.

A friend what knows about the Quartets Game said "Oh, yeah..... fossils and all those birds and fruits..... gives the school kids a chance to 'see' what laws are all about.  The kids get to lobby the politicians with cookies shaped like hawks, and so on."

No wonder pols are so fat - dey been eatin apricot blossom cookies. LOL!
