I could google and find William McFuddyDuddy who discovered ways of dating 2 types of fossils but I would hate myself in the morning.

Maybe that's a clue that we need a clue.

Maybe EW oughta get this one? He guessed it having it to do with fossils, and imagine if he had Googled William Mc Fossil? He was more on the track than I was.

When I was younger, I always dreamt of being an archaeologist.
I really enjoy shows like Cities of the Underworld and Ancient Discoveries.

I need some clarification on clue 2 and 3 please?
Gift being singular and countries being plural, add to that One of a Kind,
and the mind is stuck in neutral. Im to assume there were many gifts
given to different countries?

OMG me too. I was three, I am not sure where it came from, folks would ask what I wanted to be and that is what I said. In my paintings I use lots of images from the past, find them so freaking beautiful and by blowing them up and adding color seem to find more answers and information in the imagery. I love History!

Gifts being one of them, given to a country as a gift, no two of them being the exact same. I am not sure how many were given all told as gifts.

I keep coming up with more questions than answers darn it!
I cant fathom who would have authority enough to offer these  one of a kind cave paintings to other countries
...hmmm, unless they were given to "museums" of other countries?

What if the gift was not the cave painting itself?

Ans: Succulents

If I'm right, I'll tell why.

By surviving drought I mean it can last about 14 or so days without water.

So I'm thinking it is some kind of animal that is depicted in cave paintings, is somewhat rare, is sometimes given as a gift to other countries or rulers, and it can go for days without drinking?  Like maybe a white elephant or something of that nature?

<snipped>

That was the reason for my guess of "Succulents."  Of course, they can survive droughts.  And yes, there are some rare succulents depicted in cave drawings.

Harrummmm........ mph!  / Lance exits for dinner after making sound of elephant (or maybe the sound of a wooly mammoth. LOL!) /
