Yep.... 3 Orchids and the last is an Iris.  So, what IS common?

Google away, boys and girls.... Google away.  LOL ! ! ! !

Geniuses?  Thanks for the compliment!  Even being listed with the other three makes my head spin.  Not quite "up there," but no slouch either.  Had an IQ test a few weeks ago and came in at 135.  Michelangelo is estimated at 180, Kim Ung-yong tests at 210. Kasparov is supposedly at 190..... Again, thanks for the compliment, but as I've typed many a time, "Google is your friend."  I knew where to start - but kinda, sorta got off track with the Hamptons.  So, when I found "The Breakers" not in NY, and dcnovice goading me on, didn't take too long to get to Rhode Island.

ETA: Some call me a Google expert, and call me up with questions.  When I first "saw" Google, I said "This program was made for me."  Too bad I can't get in on the $$$. LOL!

LanceHughes -> RE: What Do These Things Have in Common? (8/14/2010 3:47:51 PM)

Anybody working on this?  Don't want to give clues until at least one bad guess.... LOL!  And the guesses WILL be bad until the clues come out.  I was TOTALLY devious in making this one - especially for igor who was suprised that I wasn't devious for my U.S. Southern border puzzle.

Even given the "Google expert" ranking that I brag about just above, I don't think I would have a clue as where to start.

C'mon, igor - I see you above.  Give me a guess and then I can give hint based on your bad guess. LOL!  (Am invited out for dinner, so really can go 'round but once.... maybe twice at most.)

ETA:  OMG! I was going to type "no hidden clues."  But compare (A) what igor answered to the quartet: "New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, California" to (B) what I typed above and by Gawd, there is a hint.

Given that hint, you might "get" it in one.  ::: SIGH ::: It took me quite awhile to construct this flowery quartet, dammit.....

igor2003 -> RE: What Do These Things Have in Common? (8/15/2010 7:35:40 AM)

Okay...here is bad guess number one....

The photos look like glass sculptures, so I'll guess they are glass sculptures made by Tiffany.

LanceHughes -> RE: What Do These Things Have in Common? (8/15/2010 7:36:31 AM)

Alright, alright....... It seems Lance has done himself in by making it WAAAAaaaayyyyy too hard. LOL!

When igor2009 said "The only four states touching Mexico," he was correct.  But there is much more to the Southern border of the U.S.than those 4 states (of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.)  So, when *I* type (just above) "U.S. Southern border puzzle," I was pointing out that there are more.......As a matter of fact, I count 5 <yes, FIVE!> that have Southern borders on water.

Now, if that doesn't give a BIG clue, I don't know what could be a larger one....

<No hidden clues in this post, just the intentional single clue about the number of States with Southern borders.>

Natural as natural can be.  Tiffany = exclusive?  Why, yes.... I think that might help.

BTW:  Probably only 50 or 60 of flowers, grasses, etc. can be on this list.  I picked these four because their labels made it clear what they were.

LanceHughes -> RE: What Do These Things Have in Common? (8/15/2010 8:02:42 AM)

OOPS!  Lance was typing # 8105 while igor2009 POSTED # 8104..... ::: sigh ::: You got two clues for the price of one. LOL!

NOT a hidden clue!

As I said before, "DAMMIT! Too many clues."  LOL!

I was looking for the "tighter" word of "indigenous," but hey, I'm thinking those are real close and rather than get into it, YOU WIN!

Your turn to post a quartet, CarpeComa. (I point out that as of this writing CarpeComa has 2 posts and 2 only! WOW!)

Actually, the similarity has more to do with their deaths.
