It will be absolutely interesting in WHO gets to define the term EXTREME ... I wanna ticket in the cheap seats!

They have defined the term "extreme" by naming specific "acts" that they believe extreme. But any lawyer worth his pay check should be able to wangle a dismissal by showing what the judge might find extreme doesnt fit what the defender does. Its a silly law and I will enjoy watching the UK parliment crumble as its members get outed one by one [:D] .
On another tangent here, a thought just occured to me, but I wonder? Is Prince Charles a closet sub? I mean he did after all wish to be Camillas tampon? [&:]

Actually, I will be closer to the debauchery as (xxxADAMxxx) the OP,  is my Partner. Thank goodness we are consentually kidnapping Him before the UK gets their mucky mitts all over this (speaking of government issues butt of course)

The kidnapping will come under already existing laws and so I'd be very wary about who I tell this to etc You could be prosecuted as the law stands now for this act.

Possession of Extreme pornographic material

Government proposals for new legislation and how it affects you !
Possession of Extreme pornographic material

The Government is currently proposing to introduce new laws that will make it illegal for anyone to possess what they refer to as ‘extreme pornography’
The new law proposes that this would be extended to make it an offence to simply have such material in your possession.

My lap top went into the menders for about a month for a hour job, I am sorting out my website, so have ample information/documents/pictures that would be classed as porn, I think they are art, just bondage or cbt pictures.  The power supply went, I would of mended it myself, but to no avail.

Also on the 9th November at 8.08 they make a ghost copy of my hard drive, is that legal?  I was told that it is in case I am a nonce, what rubbish, they are just perverts who cant get any kicks of their own so try and steal other peoples ideas.  Or has the government already agreed to this?

How dare they, I suppose the data protection act does not count when they imply it is for the safety of children, it makes me soooooooo angry that they can use children’s innocence as a weapon.

Is this legal does anyone know?  I have some pictures oh my hard drive that are hidden, but of course they would find them no problem.  They would be classed as hard core, but they are with willing consenting adults why is there an issue?

FFS identity cards now this, I don’t understand why the government is not afraid of the people, but all I seem to see is people afraid of the government, after all supposedly the people elected them in?

I have gone off on a tangent and feel extremely annoyed that again the government are trying to control the society…..   Phew, I dont even feel better for that...

Petruchio -> RE: UK Goverment and your consensual rights (12/2/2006 10:20:33 AM)

I read the articles. Sheesh, Ted Bundy in a desperate bid to stave off execution claimed pornography made him do it, although both parents denied porn was a factor during his upbringing.

The strangest recent law here in the US called for prosecution of people possessing pictures that merely looked like the models were underage and prosecution of possession of artwork that appeared to portray underage people.

Fortunately, a higher court overturned the original statutes.

Not sure if I understand you right [sm=confused.gif]  Depending on what type of pictures you are talking about I dont see anything "fortunate" about the law overturning the statute. If we are talking barely 18+ year old flat chested teens being totally body waxed to appear to be 12-15 and that are posing naked in sexual or compromising positions then I see nothing "fortunate" about this law being overturned! If however we are talking of clearly 18+ year old teens wearing school uniforms with pig tales etc then I would possibly agree. What was the material in question?

Esinem -> RE: UK Goverment and your consensual rights (12/4/2006 4:23:15 PM)

Funny how new laws are hailed as the answer to everything. Obviously, as we have drug and gun laws, we don't have problem with these things in the UK [:D]  For example, Ecstasy is now a fraction of the price a few years ago, coke is cheaper and better quality, if need a gun you only have to go to a local bar...

Joking apart, the law hasn't bothered fetish clubs and the like here for years. I really don't see it changing really.  That's not to say we are resting on our laurels, e.g. Backlash, Spanner Trust, but I don't think we'll see TG being shut down.

I suspect that we are far freer in what we can do here in practice BDSM-wise than under Dubya's Christian Fundamentalism. It's one thing having a law, another enforcing it.
