it appears that the reason & the solution is based on a very important thing Communication now you'll both see why all these books beat you in the head repeatedly with this one word. lack of- results in the failure of the dynamic & with it- supports the growth & longivity of the dynamic now add one more word to it Consistency You mentioned rituals... ok, part of what makes something a ritual is the fact that it is a practice that you do repetitively You both failed to maintain the rituals. Something you should discuss & see if you were both getting something out of it.... & THEN STICK TO IT. Not just you as the sub, but he as the dominant as well... he is just as responsible of making this happen as you are because if you become the driving force in this then you have switched the energy & it will now be he who serves you.... think about it This isn't some easy trip through the daisies. To maintain a dynamic such as this you two have one more word to add to communication & consistency... Commitment You've already had a taste at what results when you do something half-assed [;)] Good luck

sarah you have recieved much good advice. My concern is that your desire for BDSM will grow and when it gets to the point of exploding you'll have children and an unhappy marriage. You have a conflict of needs, where most vanilla people would go for counseling. That is what I suggest you do. Get a Dominant, preferably one you both respect and trust, to listen to you and give you suggestions for getting things back on track. Keepiru is on target with suggesting you develope rituals to keep you in the mindset without him needing to constantly exert his Dominance other than saying things like good slave, I approve slave or slave bring Me.... Best wishes for getting things back on track.
