ORIGINAL: damia Greetings to All. i have seen Domme used as synonymous to Dominatrix, but i have also had people say Dominatrix is a term only for professional female dominants, and then again, i have seen people say 'professional Domme.' So...is there really a difference between the terms? Or is it another of those pick-your-label things that everyone has a different opinion on, and there isn't nor was there ever a right answer? damia the Kat Ack. I consider dominatrix to be professional -- like aviatrix for a female pilot. However, I frankly hate both terms. I'm a dominant and a sadist -- I don't need a special like add-on to dom to show I'm female. If folks can't figure that out on their own then I doubt they have enough intelligence to qualify to even be my friend let alone a member of my household. For goodness sakes. I'll be a professor and author not a professoress or a authoress. Why would I need a special ending to clarify what is a personality or role type by gender?
