I'm not sure whose turn it is, so I'm leaping in with a quartet.

George Washington
Thomas Jefferson
Abraham Lincoln
Theodore Roosevelt

Which of the Rushmore four is not like the others and why?

Theodore Roosevelt served as a Vice President before becoming President when McKinley was assassinated.

...

Oats
CousCous
Barley
Rice

I was thinking of TR, though not for that reason. He's the only one on Mt. Rushmore with either glasses or a mustache. But your answer works too, since TR was the only one to inherit the office. (He wasn't the only one to serve as VP; Jefferson did that too.)

Just a guess: Is couscous the only one that's not a grain?

Couscous is made from semolina, so it's a grain too.  But I think couscous is the right answer, because it's the only foreign word in the group...

I was thinking it was more of a grain by-proudct (a kind of pasta, no?) rather than an actual grain you'd grow. But I'm totally winging it here!

The answer is couscous, yes.

The reason it's different is because it's considered two different foods in different parts of the world.  In North America it's considered a pasta.  Everywhere else it's treated as a grain.

"Currents" is the odd one out.  It's not a fruit.  ("Currants" would be a fruit.)

I don't exactly follow the logic about couscous, because pasta and grains are by no means mutually exclusive categories, but all right.

I meant currants, of course, but wasn't paying enough attention as I typed.

Maybe crop would have been a better word than grain. What I was thinking was that I've heard of people raising oats, barley, and rice--but not couscous.

I didn't know that about Absolut; cool factoid!

What I was actually thinking was that plums are only one of the four fruits mentioned that are not, ironically, enough, an ingredient in plum pudding.

I currantly () seem to be brain-dead, so would one of y'all please jump in with a new foursome.

LOL! I did the same thing and came to the same conclusion!

And now I need to go stir the plum pudding.

The answer is Gone with the Wind for THREE reasons:

Gone with the Wind was in Technicolor, and the others were all in black-and-white.

Also, all the titles except Gone with the Wind refer to more than one movie.

Also, Gone with the Wind was released in 1939, and the others were all in the 40's.

I was going for The Maltese Falcon...all the others won Oscars the years they were nominated. TMF did not. However your answers are all very good as well. GWtW is My fav movie. your turn.
