Well, doesn't help YOU much really, but is it bad to say I'm still happy for me that it's not my problem? *giggles*

Hope it sorts soon, it oughta, I doubt too many have enough extra time as to stew over these things - hopefully [X(]

missturbation -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 9:22:06 AM)

Thank you marietoo. I do feel a lot better now. You are right could be so many reasons, not all bad either. [:D]

missturbation -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 9:27:49 AM)

Thankyou mstrsspassion.
I'm not attention starved by any means or way but can certainly see why this may come across.
If this person had not responded to my post and we had not had a difference of opinion i would have thought no more of it. It was the fact he had threatened to ignore my posts that made me think 'is he ignoring me?'
I wasnt actively looking i just popped back into the thread and happened to notice peoples replies and the posters responses.
I laughed because i do to some extent find it amusing. It also hurt that someone would perhaps judge me by one difference of opinion. So yeah you're right part of me isnt amused.
I havent taken offence by anything you said. [:D]

Yes, it can be childish, or may be a way just to avoid an irritant, which I've done twice, I think.

Hee hee - an irritant running amok lol - i like that [:D]

RiotGirl -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 9:36:39 AM)

i think we all deal with things the way we deal with them.  There is no right or wrong way.  We do what is best for us.  Whats to say that maybe the person was highly offended (or retarded.. whose to say) and to them its just better not to interact anymore?  To me that is wiser then interacting in a negative way if they have hard feelings.

And you do know I was not calling you the "irritant".... [;)]

I dont remember the hunting disagreement although i do have to say that after reading i think it was mistoferins posts about how deer struggle etc i can at least understand hunting although still cant quite agree with it. Its a start though [:D]

Lots of times folks disagree....the world would be a pretty boring place if we were all in agreement. In that example you and I disagreed....in many other posts we have been in agreement. I am glad to know that my words at least were the catalyst for a new understanding....but I never expected to convert you [;)].

Lots of folks disagree with me often. I often disagree with lots of folks. Generally though, while we disagree about one thing, there will usually be common ground on other issues. There are very few people here who it seems that I can not relate to anything they say...but there are a few. I never even considered that they may think that I am ignoring them because I don't often respond to their posts. Sometimes, I don't respond to their posts because I have just come to realize that we are basically polar opposites and responding every time would look more like I was following them around the boards JUST to disagree. But I'm not ignoring them. I've never blocked anyone and I still read their posts....and ya never know, maybe one day I will even find some common ground there...lol.

missturbation -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 9:53:59 AM)

It would be pretty boring if everyone agreed all the time thats for sure.
I respect this person and their opinions very much though and i guess thats what hurts.

RiotGirl -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 10:26:20 AM)

lol - are you ignoring me??  You've responded to pretty much EVERYONE but me.

<wicked grin>

missturbation -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 10:28:01 AM)

yes u have offended me deeply with your comments lol [:D]
No i missed your post though - sorry.
Ooooooooooo theres another reason - maybe they just missed my post.
See how helpful u r [;)]

RiotGirl -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 10:33:31 AM)

lol

Termyn8or -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 10:37:12 AM)

OP, so it was change your mind or I'll block you ? That doesn't seem too smart.

I have serious disagreements about major issues with some posters, but I would never block them. What would be the point ? Reading what I might consider the ravings of a madman can be fun.

I don't know how many people have me blocked, but I am damnned for what I am. I have very controversial views and I guess words can distress some. In that light I'll run it down.

I believe that eugenics through euthenasia and sterilization should be practiced, every child should be locked in a chastity belt at puberty, and everyone should carry a gun, especially Women. I believe that the government should stick to the Constitution, much to the dismay of non-smokers. What I would do to foreign policy if elected would turn the world on it's ear. In short I could be described as a radical-in-theory or maybe a radical-in-wait. I firmly believe we need alot more executions in this world, and fast. I also believe that every member of congress and senate, and the executive branch should be put to death by slow torture, except a few like Ron Paul.

A radical like me is likely to be on a couple of block lists, and of that I am not proud. That means I have not presented my point with sufficient tact. Now they don't see my words, rather than having the off chance in the future of reading me and saying to themselves "Hmmm, this guy is making sense". The loss is truly all bestowed on the blocker, not the blockee.

I started one of the most controversial threads on this board. The flames got so high that Mod eleven had to come and dowse it. People had such diametrically opposed opinions that they were never going to budge, yet indications are that nobody blocked one another.

Some see me as a radical racist dragging his knuckles on the ground with a shotgun. That is an opinion. If my words create that opinion I want to know it. Much of life is based on opinions reflected from others. If you boil it down, if my Parents didn't hold the opinion that I should be smacked in the ass real hard for running out in the street when I was 4, I might not be here today.

So let them block you, it's their loss.

T

Well opinions are just opinions in my opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs.
I guess its how we deal with others opinions that is the factor here.

juliaoceania -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 11:17:51 AM)

The only time I am tempted to ignore someone is when they are consistently snarky when they respond to something I post no matter where I post it or what I say. There have been a couple of individuals that have done this, but I did not ignore them even. There are a couple of people I have decided I will not respond to anymore based upon a boundry they crossed, and that is being insulting to my relationship. I will not even block them, but I will not respond to them anymore either.

My Daddy frowns on me blocking people because it is like I have admitted that I let someone under my skin and in my head to the point that what they have done has control over me enough to push "block". He wants to be the only person that is in my head.... I am glad I do not block people, and I am glad he showed me how unnecessary it is...

As to your situation, well, it is immature to block for that reason perhaps... but I will say that if this person has so little control over their emotional states that they allowed you to control them via a message board it is perhaps a good thing that they did block you.

NorthernGent -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 11:26:16 AM)

I've seen this block threat a couple of times and I just can't believe there are two-legged creatures walking around on this planet who could act so fucking ridiculous as to threaten to block someone.

I mean, if someone doesn't like what someone else has to say then either respond and have a chat about it or just don't reply. Plain and simple.

NorthernGent -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 11:30:07 AM)

Equally pathetic is the "I'm on your side" comment passed from poster to poster. Do some people think they're at war?........"going in, you're either with me or against me".

missturbation -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 11:44:03 AM)

If i read a full thread which is rare i have to admit i read everyones posts. I like the insight i get from everyones opinions.
I've felt like blocking or just ignoring people from time to time but i always get over it.

missturbation -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 11:46:04 AM)

I dont think its so much a 'im on your side' comment as an agreeing with opinion. Its rare to find a thread here where most people agree so i think when they do it always looks a bit as you state.

NorthernGent -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/3/2006 11:54:52 AM)

No, I'm not talking about people agreeing. I'm on about a comment along the lines "hey, don't have a go at me, I'm on your side". What side? I didn't realise this is a game complete with teams.
