Equally pathetic is the "I'm on your side" comment passed from poster to poster. Do some people think they're at war?........"going in, you're either with me or against me".

ooo i hate that EVEN more in life.  OMG - i always want to smack the person silly and usually respond cordially with "i am on my side".  What they think is they're on the playground and still playing sandbox games.

though i must admit... they aaaaaaaare fun sometimes... heh  "im right x infinity and beyond"  My Dom won an arguement the other night by sticking that "beyond" in there.  Couldnt think of what comes after beyond?  Beyond beyond?  I've managed to stick that into a few debates and of course.. i won the debate!  lmao

lol, such restraint and such creative use of the beyond word there. I think I'll go with FACT.

That sounds right to me, and I think "game on" does date to the 70's.

Isn't "game on" a heathen Americanism?  Do they really say "game on" in happy England?

quote:

Swap leather flogger for cane and it's game on.

'Game on' is definitely an Americanism. I'm older than NG and I remember its introduction, at the end of the seventies I think. 'She's game' is British and has been around since the time of the Magna Carta as far as I can tell.

So you were alive and well in 1215 MC eh? (yeah I know, a stroke of comedy genius etc).

Anyway, "the game is afoot" was introduced in King Henry VIII's time and game on is a variant of that so it's ours.

That's the "I tried to get out and they pulled me back in" syndrome.

Posters who make an announcment that they are "out of this thread and will not return."  Only to be seen a few posts later, continuing with their ranting & raving.  Fun times.

I've done that once - bad me
Cudnt help myself *slaps pandy*

This is funny, I've done it too.  I really mean to never go back when I say Im done, and I try to occupy with another thread. Until I see shit scrolling up..."marietoo this" .... "marietoo that" .  It can be very hard.  Sometimes I succeed, other times I cave in.  heh.

marie, it's a pain in the arse isn't it. If you have a personality willing to entertain people then the temptation is there to go back for more. I had a spell when I first joined where I used to do it far too often to be healthy and basically made a right cock of myself. We live and learn.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/4/2006 11:21:08 AM)

It's ours!  Ours, I tell you.  Henry VIII did NOT say "game on."  He may have had a lot of wives, he may have started a new religion, but "game on" isn't on his résumé.

lol, yes, Henry VIII was many things, including the fattest man who has ever walked on this earth.

Sadly, the cold, harsh reality is finally hitting home - we don't even own our language. Nor do we own our national dish these days. Another country grabbed it and called it French Fries and then changed the name again to mark an invasion (and dragged us into it at the same time - talk about taking the piss). Our one contribution to world cuisine stolen from us. Talk about having the clothes off our backs. Will you take the queen and associates?

SirKenin -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/4/2006 1:04:43 PM)

I think it is childish to post a rant and whine and complain because someone is ignoring your posts.  Have you nothing better to concern yourself with?  Is life on the forum truly that important to you that you let it consume you to a point where you had to make an issue of it (and you can not say you have not, as it is rather obvious that you have).

Hmmm.  The whole thing is immature and retarded if you ask Me...  Who cares...?  Like.. Really?

I think it is childish
you are entitled to your opinion and i thank you for it.
Have you nothing better to concern yourself with?
No just like you have nothing better to do than call me childish and retarded.
Is life on the forum truly that important to you that you let it consume you to a point where you had to make an issue of it
If you dont like the thread - dont post in it. If you havent noticed its all become rather jokey and off topic of the thread anyway.
Hmmm.  The whole thing is immature and retarded if you ask Me...  Who cares...?  Like.. Really?
Nice judgement i thank you. And maybe you care - in fact so strongly you had to come and make a personal attack of someone you dont know.

Me capatilised in the middle of a sentence? Hmm good grammar lol. [:D]

SirKenin -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/4/2006 1:26:32 PM)

It is not a personal attack.  You are taking it personal because it hit you where you feel uncomfortable, that part of you that knows it is true.  Honesty and bluntness has a way of doing that to people.  I am not judging you.  I do not know you and honestly I could care less.  There are important things and there are stupid things.  This classifies in the latter.  But, you asked for feedback in an open forum and you got it.  So it was not what you wanted to hear.  Tough titties I say.  lol  [:D]  I have been in this business for a long time and I easily recognize behaviour patterns.  I have seen them all before, many times.

It is very clear to Me, even by your last response, that what people think of you matters to you.  You are the type to "lose sleep over it" so to speak.  I would even go so far to say that your self-esteem hinges on it.  But, that is your problem, not Mine.  There is a very good reason for the first line in My sig.

missturbation -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/4/2006 1:31:43 PM)

Ya know what i changed my mind about this post.
You judge from your pedestal and tell everyone what the facts are about anything they choose to do.
Just hope you dont hurt yourself when you fall from that soap box of yours.

But...of course.

A cock of any other variety, would be just a cock.

Ok.  I love you too.  [:)]  Just do the world a favor and actually learn what it means to "judge" someone, ok?  You will not look as silly next time.

And soap box?  It would appear by the OP that you are the one on the soap box lady.  lol.  I just came in here to show you a different perspective.  You do not like it, shrug it off and get over it..  Or, you could always reply with another silly rant.

missturbation -> RE: Bit of a rant (i guess) (12/4/2006 1:45:34 PM)

Lol stop trying to goad the childish, retarded one - its got boring now.
Go tell someone who cares.

After years of searching high and low I've finally found a woman on my wavelength. marie, I've been saying the above for at least a few years (although I have gone further and narrowed it down to my English cock - world opinion is divided on the matter).

If only I had a canoe or something to canoe across the pond.

SirKenin, what I read here is that you still have some degree of caring.  Do you mean "...and honestly I could NOT care less"?  Semantics, to be sure, but it skews your post into something different than what I believe you meant.  Do, please, correct me if I'm wrong.
