I'd say it must be a school in Alabama?

Bad Lam.  Bad bad bad Lam.

Then again, what do you say about a institute of learning, with a sports team with the motto, "We Ready!"

FUCK!

Hawaii pretty well clobbered ASU, so caitlyn and I are both 3-4 (1-1 head-to-head), and Level is 4-3.

Katy, your Paul Posluszny was named as a first-team Academic All-American for the second straight time. Thought you should know .

It's very important to have a first-team and second-team on the Academic All-American squad--you know, in case someone pulls a hamstring in Calculus class.

The Academic All-Americans tend to be pretty mediocre students, Katy.  And they're not great athletes either.  That's a generalization, but when I went through their records one-by-one a year or two ago, I concluded that the whole thing was just a gimmick to make the NCAA look good and deflect the "Why are universities involved in big-time sports?" criticism.

We all picked Central Michigan, and they won tonight, so it's Level 5-3, Lam and caitlyn 4-4 (1-1 head-to-head).

Back to completely average ... I'm so excited.

I'm going to lost my GT pick ... because of another quarterback situation (and possibly because it may have been a crummy pick). We may have made our picks too early.

Another snoozer game last night. This is almost as bad as watching the NFL.

I have a feeling our records are going to start improving once we get into the games with more familiar teams.  I mean, how the fuck was I supposed to know that San Jose State was favored over New Mexico...  I'm not sure I've ever seen San Jose State in my life.

I picked West Virginia over Georgia Tech on the "ACC is overrated and Big East is underrated" philosophy.  Well, also, I've watched each team a few times (I think WV twice and GT three times), and GT had a few offensive problems when I saw them.

Edited to add: Well, now that I remember the games, WV's defense wasn't all that great, so it will probably be competitive.

Our first "marquis" game is tonight, Florida St vs UCLA. I'm hoping the Bruins didn't shoot their wad beating USC lol.

That was a bad fourth quarter for the Collarme Three.

Level 5-4, Lam and caitlyn 4-5 (1-1 head-to-head)

Edited to add: Eleven games over the next three days.  Maybe someone will finally start to pull away.

I primarily picked GT because WV is mostly a running team and GT is good against the run. The QB situation will probably be telling in this game. I think GT is starting a guy that has never taken a snap in a college game.

FSU 44 UCLA 27
Hawaii 41 Arizona State 24
BYU 38 Oregon 8

The PAC 10 sucks -- can't even stay within 17 points of anyone.

The only other teams that made the crimiNoles look that good were Duke and (sorry Caitlin) Rice.

I'm expecting to see Southern Cal get manhandled by Mythigan. That will be fun.

Okay, I think we three are tied now at 5-5 - Oklahoma St beat Alabama, 34-31

Yes, we're all 5-5 now--but you and I are about to go 7-5, and caitlyn is going to be 6-6, because Rutgers is clobbering K-State.

I think I'm going to go 3-0 today.  Yay!

I picked all three of those games wrong, but Cal is going to win tonight.

USC vs. Michigan is going to be an outstanding game.  No idea who's going to win; I think I picked USC, but you know that I think Michigan should be playing for the national championship.

Did anyone pick Missouri in tomorrow's Sun Bowl? Here's an article from yesterday that said 20 of their players were sick with something

http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=Ak0De8NpMKdwKpbFwo0rjx6j1LYF?slug=ap-sunbowl-missourisickness&prov=ap&type=lgns

It figures -- after I poke fun at the PAC 10 they had to have a team go out and whip A&M.
