That's my point.  So if y'all want to complain about not being able to post bondage pics because of the constraints of the LAW, then go to another site to post or look at them.

Or, talk to the people who run CM and find out once and for all WHY they won't allow them.  Or pics of people being whipped.  It's all pretty much going to fall under the same categories under the Law (at least common sense makes me think that, though I might be wrong).

And like it's actually stated BY CM...Which I've quoted already in this thread and I'll paraphrase ...

Don't like it...leave.

Status: offline 		i had no idea this was such a passionate subject. i am even getting slammed with mail on the other side. (Thanks to those who were kind in their emails. i appreciated the thoughts and experiences.)

To the others, who seem to be personally offended by the question... yes, i read all the posts, and all my emails. i understand what is being said about the law. i still find it ironic that other sites manage to post pictures that are BDSM related despite the laws, and this one does not. This does not mean i am ungreatful for CM, or that any of the other insults that have been slung fit me. It is my observation and opinion.

What's frustrating is those who don't.

Sorry if I came off as snippy towards you...wasn't meant to be at you.  My frustration in another thread elsewhere I guess was showing through in all my postings before work today.

Status: offline 		hmmm.  i haven't really seen people using this thread as a means to gripe and complain about the picture rules, but rather as a means to understand what the rules are about.  We are like little kids.  When someone tells us, "no" and we ask why, and they say "because i said so", we tend to want to persist on the why part.

My pic was cropped so that nothing that shouldnt be seen nekkid was actually seen...no nipples inthe picture...and well there was a chain inthe picture...but i was holding it in my hands...so technically it was niether forbiddine genital nudity nor bondage...

the picture was too many pixels...

i have no idea as to how to adjust it...or anything of that nature!

Status: offline 		For the record, my pictures were again denied, even the ones that showed no nudity, and no bondage.

The ones who have contacted me on the other side to point out straight up bondage and nudity in profiles, i believe the pictures posted before the rules changed, but i am not certain as one profile seems to have new pictures from the last time i checked them out. 

The bottom line for me is how many others have pictures posted does nothing to those of us trying to get pictures approved, but thanks for sharing.

Edited to add:  I will also say, since everyone has said there are volunteer reviewers, that I'm sure if you see something that goes against the standard picture wise, I'm sure CM would appreciate the report.  After all, no matter who they are, the reviewers are only human, and as such I'm sure do miss something from time to time with as many members as there on here.

By the way, Diane, don't know what happened.  I clicked on your link and 40 (seriously) 40 internet explorer windows tried to pop up. I had to shut down my computer to make it stop.

Status: offline 		After reading the thread, and some great points were made for and against different types of pics, i'd like to add a couple of things.  First, CM is NOT, imho, a bondage site..it's a "meeting, dating (whatever turns ya on) kink friendly site.  Can you imagine what a vanilla site would make of some of our profiles, much less the pics..lol.  As far as the "headless" shots, no matter how tasteful, the mods/reviewers/owners need to know that the people who are here and posting, especially pics, are at least 18.  i'm not sure that can be done if the shot doesn't show at least part of the face?  Of course, i'm probably wrong on that since i've never been any good at guessing anyone's age..lol. 

The third point is that, for the next 2 years or so, or...as long as Bush 43 is hanging around, and Martin is chairman of the FCC, people who run and/or frequent adult or kink sites aren't going to have an easy time of it.  Some of the changes we want might well happen over time, but right now, with the conservatives like Jerry Fallwell, James Dobson, etc., in power, those changes won't happen over night.

My last point (i promise..lol) is that this is a volunteer site.  There are other more bondage friendly sites, as well as sites more friendly to other kink issues, and i'm sure they'd be thrilled to take your pictures and your money.  However, in 2008 i plan to voice my opinion at the voting booth (worked fairly well in 06..lol).

On other issues ...

I like CM.  I recommend CM.  I appreciate the service, and would gladly contribute financially if asked or if there was a "Donate" button.

I try to always stay within the TOS, and appreciate the difficult time that mods, reviewers and the owners have in running a business, and staying within the law in an environment that may not be always easy to discern where "the lines" are, exactly.

But this whole "profile pic" issue is a boil on their reputation and business.  It's probably the one thing that causes the most heartburn and hard feelings about the site at all.

Every thread (probably 4 or 5) where I have seen this issue raised, and where I have posted my own thoughts (in a respectful, thoughtful and non-confrontation manner wholely consistent with the TOS) has been deleted.

So I'll keep my comments to myself, and wait to see if this thread is deleted as well.

But since you brought it up... i am not of the mindset that one who wishes to post should be required to read every other posted comment before posting themselves. Just responding to the original post is fine with me.... but then i am very new to the boards, and who am i to say when majority of the people posting have infinately more experience with these boards than i...  kc692... no, there is not a reason provided as to why my pictures are not posted. They just disappear from my profile without ever having posted. As far as "blowing the whistle" on others whose pictures have posted, it will never be me to report infractions. i am one of the ones who think the pictures should be there. It appears to me that what DianeB is trying to point out is the sexually & kink explicit advertisements for movies. Pictures for movies can post, but personal pictures of the same nature can not? i too find this odd for a decidely "kink" site. krikket... by your own admittance this site is in your opinion "kink friendly". i think bondage pictures are being referred to as part of a kink, and not to imply CM is a bondage site per se. i think of it as pretty open to a variety of kinksters, just less opn to posting their pictures than some other sites. i do not think the problem is showing, or failing to show a face.... there are a zillion pictures posted that are not clear face shots. You may very well have a good point about the politics though...  FirmHand... i am sure this issue is a boil on CM's reputation and business, and that it causes the most hard feelings about the site (though before creating this post, i had no idea......). i think a close second issue must be those who are ready with intelligent posts, that are clearly within the TOS rules, but hesitate to speak their minds because the entire thread might be deleted... There is alot that is great about CM. i still find their decisions about pictures to be odd, but that is not to say i think we should riot over it. Status: offline 		While CM can choose whether or not to have banners and pictured links to other sites here on CM, the content of those banners and pictured links have nothing whatsoever to do with CM and CM is not responsible  or liable for those pictures as stated by someone else in this thread regarding the law and CM's penchant for wanting to stay within the law.

So, while I don't particularly like those banners or pictured links, they keep this site free for the rest of us.

So, while I'm not saying that my personal opinion has anything to do with me supporting CM in it's descisions (because my opinions wouldn't matter in the long run anyway), I respect CM's owners' descisions to stay within the law as they see fit in order to keep this site available and free for it's users.  My posts have simply been made in order to help people possibly understand and come to accept the many possible reasons for CM's ways.
