MasterNdorei -> Bondage Pictures Banned (12/3/2006 10:11:13 PM)

Another post has prompted me to ask... why is it that Collarme will not allow any pictures of a person in bondage to be included in profiles?

Curious~*

Edited so Mnottertail can stop making fun of my typos... at least i do not speak them (yet)

mnottertail -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/3/2006 10:13:46 PM)

I think if I understand english, they enclude them all the time.

MasterNdorei -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/3/2006 10:15:48 PM)

i have not seen anyone bound in a picture from their profile, and several of mine have been refused because they included bondage of some type...
If you know of some that are posted, please refer them to me on the other side, so i can have a better idea of what is acceptable.

Thanks!

I have seen many in the past, not too extensively............and while I do not talk for this site, a review of the picture rules here, pretty much say that the first one cant be so out of the norm......if you get my drift.

MasterNdorei -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/3/2006 10:31:10 PM)

i have tried to post them as additional pictures, and had them refused... but i just tried again to make sure... if they are refused, i will resurect this thread and ask again...

Thanks for now...

It's a posted rule on the edit page. No depictions of people in bondage.

Why? Not sure. Possibly CM just likes to cover their butts on a number of levels(legally speaking).

Maybe it's so people in some countries where pictures of people in bondage are illegal can still make use of the site. This sort of question rarely doesn't seem to get answered by the CM folks though. If you look at the other thread, where the baseline question is actually somewhat valid, you will see that at least one Mod has followed it, and has not answered the question.

Which begs the question: Why do the CM folk not deign to explain(debate) the reasoning of their decisions with their clientele? [8D]

Ive often wondered why that is as well as I have tried posting some of My ropework on here too. One would think you could post them, especially considering they now offer 'movies' with a multitude of fetishes onsite. I now post a few of Mine (as alot of folks do) on slave farm as they encourage it, bondage as well as acts of sadomasochism. They dont care so long as its your own personal work, and theyve been around since 98. Go figure.

kittensmailbox -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 5:13:54 AM)

It is simple, because someone can come back to the CM and blame them for posting photos of "rape type" photos... Even if the photo itself is not rape, in someone else's eyes, it can be.... IMO...

Aine -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 7:38:20 AM)

As others have said in other threads about what is and what isn't allowed here on CM.

It could be the particular content of said pictures that could fall under any number of reasons.

4.2  Collarme.com services shall only be used for lawful purposes. Transmission or solicitation of any material that violates United States federal or state, or other laws that may apply in this jurisdiction or your local area is prohibited.

Problem: Your profile photo or text was not approved because it was not within our Community Standards
Solution:
We are here to help members of the BDSM Community meet and interact. If you are not comfortable with our community standards we encourage you to consider one of the many sex or "swingers" sites on the web.

No commercial photos or artwork - Only pictures you took yourself
No extreme or vulgar pictures.
No objects or places for your primary photo
No explicit genital nudity or persons in bondage.
Persons who appear underage will be asked to furnish proof of age

(Edited for spacing)

Though, I'm thinking that this particular part that I've bolded and underlined might explain things.

Unless someone can quote another portion of CM stating that they allow actual bondage pictures.....Hey, it's just what I managed to glean from the information provided by CM.  So I'm quoting, not speaking for them.

But my best advice would be to go to the help section of the main page and send them a little note asking for clarification.

missturbation -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 8:01:59 AM)

Ive tried to post some really tasteful ones but they have been refused. Seems weird to me for a bondage site.
You can get ur ass out but dont show a pair of handcuffs lol.

Aine -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 8:04:08 AM)

Perhaps the part that says No genital nudity or persons in bondage?

Has nothing to do with how tasteful it is.  *shrugs*

missturbation -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 8:12:37 AM)

Yeah i know they ban all bondage pics but i have seen some far less tasteful. Pics of bloody wrists, full on frontal nudity down to the waste that wasnt pleasant to look at. In comparison i think a pic of the back of my head, hair down my back, hands behind head with cuffs on is far more tasteful and even dare i say it more acceptable. [:D]

MstrssPassion -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 8:14:52 AM)

there are quite a few threads about this but this one pretty much sums it up

& read up on this

Section 18 U.S.C. ยง 2257

Aine -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 8:15:21 AM)

While in the personal taste portion, I agree....I'd rather see that.  But they can't deny pic just because the person is ugly to some, now can they?

missturbation -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 8:21:57 AM)

No, my apologies that wasnt my intended point. I just meant that no matter how attractive or ugly i find a partial nude shot my personal opinion i that subtlety is more attractive.

As others have said, it is plainly stated in the rules.  It is my understanding (when I have had some returned of my own) when rejected, you get an email with a concise reason telling you why.  I'm guessing yours said no depiction of bondage. To quote another response on another thread....thems that pays the bills makes the rules.  Is it really necessary to know why the powers that be say no? They say no, simple.  I'm not sure the way to endear yourself (not that that matters either) is to send them multiple times so the reviewers have time taken to review and reject them every time.  Every member has the capability of having 14 pics on their profile   Think about if everyone sends in their rejected pics two or more times in an effort to get the pics past the review process when they are in violation of TOS. Sounds like a lot of wasted time to me, but who am I to say.

MisPandora -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 12:20:13 PM)

I'd guess because of the 2257 regulations.  Anything depicting bondage, SM, etc...  Their legal counsel probably advised against it because it increases their responsibility for photos stored on their server being able to be prosecuted under federal law.  There's alot of requirements for a "custodian of records" of sites that host/store images that fit under the 2257 statute.  CM is a far cry from the nature of the Extreme Associates case or Red Rose Stories, but, it's entirely plausible given the current nature of our government and their view of WIITWD.

It's funny....a handsome male friend of mine had a photo of his bare chest denied recently.  The very same picture had been on the site on his previous profile a year ago.  It had no bondage, no genitals, no nothing.....and it was clear from the other picture that he had uploaded that it was in fact him.  And for a woman that loves chests and guns, it was extremely tasty, I mean tasteful!

MstrssPassion -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 2:32:13 PM)

That is something that has been discussed before & never once has it been answered.

Why is it a man submits a bare chested pic, with or without face & it is rejected but the women submit bare chested pics with or without face & they are accepted?

darksdesire -> RE: Bondage Pictures Banned (12/4/2006 3:05:56 PM)

i submitted a photo of just my torso, clad in a sheerish camisole, panties and a garter.  No face.  It was rejected with no explanation.  There was no nudity, (unless you count the hint of nipple under the sheer material), it wasn't in any way obscene, didn't depict any sort of bondage.  i didn't try submitting another picture because i simply don't understand the criteria.  Of course they have the right to reject whatever photos they want, but it would be nice to understand why those that seem to fit the criteria are rejected.  But then...it is sooooooo much better than all those pictures of penises and vaginas you  find on the other sites.
