There are times, occassionally that some gentle tongue torture is SO sublime....but generally it ends up being -way- too much for me to handle.

I had a friend who was circumcised when he was in his early twenties for medical reasons, he said the loss of sensitivity is major.

Circumcision for health reasons is a red herring, there is no increased health risk by remaining uncircumcised. Most European medical councils are against circumcision for any reason other than health because of health issues caused by circumcision. The British Health Service won't circumcise men because the British Medical Council has labeled it mutilation. Well over 90% of western European men are uncircumcised.

There are regularly advertisements in the Sunday papers for labia modification. Here again it has to be done privately because the health service won't do any procedure that isn't for legitimate medical reasons.

It seems like it might end up being an interesting read just from what I am gathering here. The reason for the loss of feeling is that nerves were cut during the procedure. In this procedure the nerve bundles are avoided entirely.

As for male circumcision...loss of feeling varies from one person to the next. it was medically necessary for my father to be circumcised in his late 40's/early 50's and he reported a huge INCREASE in sensation.

I'm one of those with a very hooded clit, so it's at times difficult to ah ah hem lol
on the other hand my cllit is not tht sensitive
getting my hood pierced was a great move
actually when there is too much skin, albiet i know anything can go wrong, i'd certyainly consider having it done myself and would look at it in much the same light as a boob lift or tummy tuck

Status: offline 		To me this makes sense. i would think over time without the foreshin to reduce sensation during day to day life i would think you are being somewhat desensitised.
i would think the same thing would happen to the clit over time.

Status: offline 		I know I'm dating myself by saying so, but I recall perhaps about 15 years ago, there was a dr. who wrote a book called "The Love Surgery" or something like that...anyway, he had devised a procedure, not too unlike what's being discussed here, in order to help husbands and wives enjoy better sex.  problem was, he would botch the job totally.  I remember 60 minutes did a segment on him and some of his former patients.  the women were badly scarred and traumatized as well.

I'm quite sure medicine has come a long way since then , but, like every surgery, the risks must be considered.

Status: offline 		If I really had a problem with orgasming or experiencing pleasure during sex, I'd seriously consider it. I'd view is as a corrective/reconstructive type surgery done to improve the quality of my life. But, since I don't have that problem (thank goodness), I'd much rather have a tummy tuck. ;-)

The foreskin is functional, it is not a piece of superfluous skin. It is an integral part of functioning male genitalia. It protects the glans and stops it cauterizing and has a function in stimulation. I was surprised to find out that circumcized men have to use lubrication to masturbate and have to directly stimulate the glans.

I would no more imagine the labia to be superfluous than the foreskin. Smart people only have invasive medical procedures when it is only medically necessary.

But I can't really help that we're american and he had his snipped as a baby, now can I? lol

I'm merely speaking from the perspective of a girlfriend of a man who has been circumsized and his personal sensitivity level in regards to the apparent common thought that men who are circumsized are less sensitive.

And actually, he doesn't always need lubrication during masturbation.  Whether it's me or him doing it, he has such sensitivity that I can get him to orgasm from manipulating one single spot just under the ridge of the head with one finger.  No arm-wrenching activity needed.
