hehe..well can't say as I'd be horrified to get it..but like with any annoyance most tend to try hard to not have them or take on more than they already have. Sort of funny actually because I think alot more people try harder to avoid health annoyances than they do issue's that can wipe them off the face of the planet..ie..smoking..over-eating/heart attack etc. etc. ..smoke them smokes and feed that face..thats what lifes all about! yes am a smoker to..lol. I think you'll find like every other Dom with a profile, its had to find a sub on this site. HSV not withstanding. From what Ive seen on sites, Herpes is very misunderstood. A lot of people would see you as a leper. Its sad really. But thats the way it is. The new one people are freaking out over is HPV. Thats the cervical cancer causing virus. So I would suggest against coming up with a name like SubwithHPV.

HSV is so prevalent. I've known so many people who have it, although not a lover. It's manageable, and I really doubt that it would keep me from being with someone I desired. There are ways to work around it and protect one's partner. I just don't see it as a big deal.

As to the "only honest person here" that was hardly my intent. I believe there are many honest people here for what they desire is not exactly main stream, and just being here is probably more honest than most could be. I was merely surprised that in such a place, where dreams fantasy are wished (and perhaps even found), that more are not upfront about Herpes. I believe many here are HSV positive. I wonder how many hide it from the lovers they find here. I would guess quite a few.... Wouldn't you?

A sidebar: Just for kicks I just signed up for a HSV dating site. In "search" I placed the word "submissive." In all of New York State, there was one match: She is a switch, a rather heavy switch. Nothing wrong with the weight, I just prefer thin and fit, and I 'm not a switch. Somehow, I don't think I will find what I seek at a HSV dating site. There are no HSV bdsm personal sites. None that I have found, at least.

Btw-there is no way for a male to actually KNOW he has HPV. It has no symptoms, no side affects, and there is no mandated test for it. Hell of a virus, eh? It says: there are hundreds of strains of HPV, and in the most serious cases cervical cancer is rare (rarer stilll when detected early).

I'm sort of surprised at the non-chalant reaction you're getting here so far. I'll be frank. I was on a philandering site and when the topic of herps arose, it turned into mass hysteria. I almost think this is a pretty true picture of what people really think about herpes. You can be a philanderer, but you cant have herpes. On this site it seems, you can have herpes but you cant be a philanderer. Its always something I guess.

Isnt herpes simplex virus what produces cold sores in the area of the mouth, and happens to be the same virus that appears "down there" as an STD? If products like Zovirax work on cold sores around the mouth, isnt there the same effect "down there"? I've never ever heard of anyone announcing to a date that they have cold sores every now and then, or indeed anyone being put that much off someone they really like, because they have cold sores. I havent seen anyone with cold sores around either, in years - I take it that with the high infection rate, people are using Zovirax and its competitors to prevent their appearance. If it can be controlled, and the appearance of the genital variety of cold sores prevented, then is it really that big a deal? I also heard that its only infectious from the cold sores themselves, so if its managed so that the sores dont appear, then is there a problem? I'm just talking what I've heard here, so if anyone can comment on the above then please do to correct my ignorance; just dont flame me over it though! If what I wrote is true, then I wonder whether DomwithHSV is not using the whole issue as an excuse? That sounds a lot more harsh than I want it to sound, but I'm too tired to put it better sorry!
