What is the general ratio of real life male dominants to real life female submissives/slaves? Does anyone have a guess? I was just curious to know what the general amounts were.

I agree there are probably regional variations but from what I've seen of the midwestern folks who attend public functions, which is in itself a huge qualification, there appear to be 4-5 female submissives for every male dominant. My understanding is that among gay men those who top are even rarer and het submissive males seem to have overwhelming odds against them, although I don't know if it's due to a scarcity of dominas or just the large number of submissive males.

1Rotten,

I have heard something along those lines, but, from what I understand, the Y chromosome is actually shrinking in size. But because this chromosome in humans carries no sex-linked characteristics (that job is reserved for the X chromosome) this will probably result in no adverse effects to the human genome. In many species, especially insects, there are two X chromosomes in females and 1 in males. This is most likely what the human genome is heading towards, the Y chromosome will slowly shrink and dissappear leaving just the X.
Sorry, I just couldn't help putting in my two cents worth of biological knowledge.

*steps aside to avoid the Dom stampede to the Midwest*

I do agree that het sub males have the losing side in the ratio game. You read estimations that there are 50 submissive males for every Dominant female. My area is well above that average, and I'd give it 250 submales to every lifestyle Domme. I average 10 new contacts from submissives in my area daily. Some days, I'll hear from up to 30 new subs. I do not know if this is a population issue or a stress level issue, but it sure gets to be a pain in the butt when they assume that THEY are a special case, and my profiles indicating that I'm happily settled didn't take THEM into account.

While the scarcity of Dommes is part of the problem, there is also the fact that any male with a submissive fantasy proclaims himself sub. Because it sounds good in their mind, they think it is who they are. The majority of "male subs" have never actually submitted to a woman in person. This unrealistically inflates the ratio.

I recently heard an interesting statistic that states that the male chromosome is actually declining in number throughout the human specie

And with 96% of test tube babies being female I can just imagine where the Real Men
whom carry a Dominant personality will go in 20 years. Forget about the men whom are
surgically becomming Woman or the woman whom are surgically becomming Men or
lets not forget those whom do not associate with any gender at all or both genders
or the whole geographical areas that totally disapear alone with all gender folks GAWD
do We really have any way to speak to a Ratio other then for Collarme to count just
how many Dominant males are members today and subjudicate females are members today.

Do I dare add the Dominant /subjudicate factor here switched with gender? LMBAO! JMPO~

The figures I have seen suggest in this order: male subs, female subs, switches, Doms, Dominas. But all anecdotal, even if those anecdotes were collected by academic professionals. They do seem to fit in my local scene, if you add in the gay male subs whom we seldom see in any numbers.
