Doms in my neighborhood watch each other's backs, and it's a local truism - avoid the subs that can't get along with other subs, and the doms that get no respect from other doms? Run.
Seems to work different in other places - not surprisingly. But I really don't think that it's intrinsic to domhood - more likely local mores.
