I personally have never found it to be a burden to be PRECISE in my language and to take a few seconds to put an IMO or some other clarifier to make sure people know I'm not universalizing.

This is a tough medium to work in, and a lot of people DO universalize and are wrong for doing so.

I agree people should be less sensitive and go with the flow- like recently when Owned thought I'd tried to insult her and her dom.  All it took was me saying "Hey just kidding" and we both had a good laugh over it.

Was she wrong for getting a bit oversensitive?  Should I have gotten in a huff because I suddenly feel I have to caveat EVERYTHING?  What good would that have done either of us?

Either way, it's not a big deal.  I appreciate people taking the time to be precise in their language, AND I make lots of room for misinterpretation on my part.  I think that gets me along pretty well ehre.

Ok i love the idea of a disclaimer....but mine is very long and i am very lazy.....from now on i am using this symbol...

it stands for:

TIMPONYYDDNTAASOETMEIYCNTSIKIIHNTIKTYASWTGAFASBIMYFAAVBUTUFOSTBSBSLVAASKOSOTNANYWTDMIFFTDIACR

which stands for:

This is my personal opinion not yours, you do not need to attach any sort of emotion to my experience, if you choose not to, sure i know it is hard not to, i know that you want to get all fired up about something because it makes you feel alive and vital, but use that energy for other stuff, better stuff like volunteering at a soup kitchen or something  of that nature, and if you want to debate my ideas feel free to do so in civilized rational manor.

I do like to communicate in such a way as to take responsibility for my own opinions and ideas.  I don't find it particularly time consuming or difficult to indicate this attitude in my posts.

That being said, my disclaimer would be:
In no way do I claim to have a market on the truth, and these opinions are expressed with the utmost humility.'

I agree.  I have also found the exercise of being precise in my language improves effective communication and in no way limits my expression of self.  I find it to be a great exercise in self-discipline.

You replied with the "twue" word so per my disclaimer (see section labeled IMPORTANT!) you have been duly peed upon.

I'm still harboring a grudge over that.

You make a great point.  I misunderstood and told you what I thought.  You corrected what I thought. End of story.

I'm going with those who say be precise in what you say, to the best of your ability.  Otherwise you're just dumping a bunch of crap onto the table and saying, "Here.  Sort it."   As I always said to a former boss who was constantly ticked off at being misunderstood:  "It's all in the delivery."

I'd like my disclaimer to note that anything I say is subject to how much coffee, chocolate or alchohol I have had, and also which way the wind is blowing up my skirt.

Before i register this disclaimer as yours are you sure you do not want to add a PMS clause?

This is only my opinion which comes from my observations and life experiences.   Of course I think I'm right, or what would be the point of saying it?!   I will however change my position or opinion if you can present yours in a clear and reasonable way without the jerk/asshole extras, otherwise, fuhget it!    M

The following are the opinions of this sole poster, any and all views, are not to be deemed a tyranical dictate of what is possible. Though I did it to be humorous, it seemed to work. So, hell. Why not and a big disclaimer to everything.
