Thank you all for sharing, I am leaning towards a nice big toolbox.
Secure and portable.

You're supposed to hide them?

My more frequently used items are in a lingerie bureau.   My single tails are hung up in the closet, and most of the rest is sorted into plastic rubbermaid boxes (the large ones) and stacked in the closet.  I also have a couple of cases for things like CBT toys, the violet wand, and some other things.

Yeah, I have too many toys LOL.

Hide or Keep Them? Well I have one of those Cardboard Under the bed Boxes, for my Toys, and a Plastic one under the bed too, for my Ballet Things, and another Plastic one, for my Fem things.

Trying to decide which one to use next, BalletBob

Hi MsSonnetMarwood. I looked for your profile, but didn't find any. Now I was wondering, If I ever come to Maryland, MAY I PLEASE play with your CBT Toys? I PROMISE to put them back, when done.

I've had a four poster wrought iron canopy bed forever.  Once I could no longer fit things into a box in the back of the closet, I bought a very nice rattan type chest with a wood frame.  I added a lock, put everything inside, and kept it at the foot of the bed.  Now that it's just the two of us, we've converted a two car garage into our dungeon.  Most of the things break down because we do have older kids (all of the age of consent) that still pop in every now and then for the holidays and such.  I pulled a kinda dirty trick on my son to keep him from going out and examining things too close.  I knew he was coming over for Thanksgiving dinner and I broke down everything except the bondage table (massage table when the chains are put away) and the love/leather swing (Hubby has a bad back).  He wanted some Walmart bags to take some of the food back to the dorm with him.  Without thinking, I told him they were in the garage.  He headed for the door to the garage as I said "You don't want to go out there."  Not paying any attention, he kept going.  Again I said "You REALLY don't want to go out there."  Still not paying attention to me.  The moment he opened the door you would have thought he caught us in the act.  The results were hilarious!  Recently he brought some friends over and one of the first things he did was warn them about what was in the garage.  ROFL

Right now, since its a very small collection, it all lives in an old blue Jansport backpack.  Its the easy way to make sure that Mom, in her most helpful, doesnt find anything lurking around.  Angel's collar is on my desk, but thats the only thing not in the bag.

All but funiture goes into a large antique chest, with a marvelous key. The cage is described as a handmade dog crate. The bondage bed is a "massage table".

A note about storage of leather toys and implements:

Leather is porous and needs to breathe. You should store your leather in an airy, dry area that is not too hot or cold and certainly not damp. Do not impede air circulation by hanging toys and clothing in a tightly packed closet.  Do not store in direct contact with the flow of heating vents or near heating units and avoid direct sunlight as this will dry and fade leather. Always use sturdy, padded hangers to help preserve the shape of your leather clothing and if you choose to cover leather items use a breathable material like a cotton sheet. Avoid storing any leather items in plastic bags, plastic containers, tight drawers, car trunks, bathrooms or packed tightly or jumbled into a toybag or toybox.

An old girlfriend's mother dropped in to visit her. She said she suddenly realized her vibrator was sitting between them on the coffee table, and all she could do was wonder what her mother was thinking. Her mother never mentioned it at all.

While I am not the keeper of the toys, I do have a lot of fetish clothing. I keep them in my closet along with everything else. The other members of my family are afraid of my closet. They know that there are times things go in there and are never seen again. The don't go in there at all.

Then again, I also don't wear things that are "typical" in our very atypical style of clothing, so that helps as well.

When Master and I moved into our house we bought a new bed. It has a metal frame and came with optional metal drawers for underneath. We bought one long drawer that fits all along one side of the bed and two small ones. I keep all the bed clothes in the two small ones. In the large one we keep two lockable suitcases with all our toys and things in. The large one is also used sometimes to store me in! which is why we bought a large one.

portable tool boxes work well.

LadyMarmalade1 -> RE: Where do you "hide" or keep BDSM toys, cages, clothing, apparatus, etc. ? (12/17/2006 10:09:14 AM)

We have a bed that has storage compartments on each side.  All I have to do is lift up the mattress and everything is tucked away nicely.  We have a vanilla flat mate at the moment, and all the clothes and toys are kept there.  I do like to keep my books with all my regular books, so that I can read them easily.  Eventually I plan to put hooks in the ceiling for hanging plants, or rather for tying up my subbie :)

All the new toys are wrapped up nicely and under the Christmas tree right now. Coca is painfully waiting for the holidays.

By the way, Happy Holidays everyone!!

Another vote for the big red toolbox solution. Lockable.

I'm not closeted, I just don't want to have to explain that inflatable butt plug and penis gag to the Orkin Man or whomever might be snooping in my house....
