A fascist state controls a nation's economy to achieve nationalist ideals.
The US Government appears to be impeding a few civil liberties but a fascist regime? No.

Thats seems over simplified to an after-the-fact version of the definition to me.  What leads up to that point?  Who controls the money and the economy in the us?

A national id card, controlling the internet, etc doesnt trigger any kind of alarms for you then?
Have you read any of this?
About the many faces of fascism?

On another forum goose said it quite well with:

Fascism, definition and why the USA qualifies

I remember when 911 happened thinking that if the official story was true that Al Queida had just made Bush an early Christmas present. Flags started going out immediately, people gathered around proudly waving their flags and supporting Bush and company. No one benefitted more than the Bush Administration and their friends like halliburton on that day 9/11/01. I knew trouble in the USA would increase from that day on and it has.

An interesting note to end this article: As of January 2004, the United States fulfills all fourteen points of fascism and all seven warning signs are present. But we're not alone. Israel also fulfills all fourteen points and all seven warning signs as well. Welcome to the new republic, redefined, revised and spun.

It is not too late to reverse this in either country, but it will be soon. The first step is realizing it. The second step is getting involved. As the propaganda slogan disguising our current war goes, "Freedom isn't free." But our war for freedom isn't abroad; it's here at home.

But the claim that this investigation is neither rightwing nor leftwing is a nonsense. Only the rightwing would question the authority of the state to collect taxes for the benefit of all so the premise that this investigation doesn't have a political agenda is nonsense.

I haven't seen the film but I thoroughly understand the argument. Realone's brief synopsis did not go into enough depth to tell the readers here that the film's premise is to attack the controversial 16th Amendment, i.e. the way taxes are generated / collected ; by taxing an individuals level of production.

So in plain speak… the film doesn't attempt to give the inclination that collecting taxes for the benefit of all is somehow immoral /illegal; it's instead attacking the method of taxation - Entirely different.

I also suspect Russo is attempting to educate the masses on the inherent evils of the Federal Reserve System, ala the multiplier, ala fractional reserve lending practices, ala money created ''out of thin air''.

Here are the film /movements primary objectives :
  • Stop the polarization of America
  • Stop the domination of the Democratic and Republican parties over our political system
  • Shut down the Federal Reserve system
  • Return America's gold to Fort Knox and have it audited
  • Have Congress and the IRS, in a public forum, reveal the law that requires Americans to pay a direct, unapportioned tax on their labor.
  • Make computerized voting illegal in all 50 states
  • Keep the internet free and out of the control of large institutions
  • Rescind the law called the Real ID Act so Americans never have to carry a National ID Card
  • Make it illegal to implant RFID chips in human beings
  • Educate juries to the fact that they have the right to determine the law as well as the facts of a case
  • Educate juries to the fact that they are not obligated to follow the instructions of a judge
  • Stop Globalization because it is the path to a one world government
  • Protect our borders
  • Restore the environment
  • Put an end to the Patriot Act

I dunno about anyone else who might interpet these, but they seem ''All American '' to me instead of democrat /republican.

Gotta agree with you there.

Here is your first essay question now people:

Why do we have something called an IMF (International Monetary Fund) and why are they continuing to lend to countries with extremely questionable economies and currencies, and particularly the very government we asking to pay it back ?

Hmm... let me take a wild guess here:

Is it in hopes that the country indeed defaults on the loan, so that they can install a puppet regime and then go on to exploit their natural resources?

The 1917 income tax argument- if you get vocal on this- it could get you audited. You cant win this so drop it. [sorry]

Whats so bad about being audited?  i suppose if you were a polititian and had lots to hide or cheated on the taxes.

Cant win?  If i cant win then that makes the point this is a fascist country and the bush cudatah was successful!!!  i would tend to agree that we are not far from it but ithink its still winnable.

I think this is the most important film I'll see this year.  It certainly far outclasses anything else "youtube" has to offer. Dunno about any of you, but I don't want any national ID card with a radio emmitter built in. I don't want to pay taxes if there is no law that says I have to. For that matter, I don't think I want a president who's illegally in office, or his illegal war. Furthurmore, I don't want a federal reserve running this country into the ground anymore. Like the guy said at the end of the movie, as long as we're scared to do anything to stop it, it's never gonna change.

I already know a few things I'm gonna do, and a few more I'm not gonna do anymore.

Damn snivelling, sneaky, cheatin, lying thieves.
