I think there is an instinct in humans who's ancestors came from the northern hemishphere to celebrate this time of year. It used to mean a rebirth of the land is coming, that it will be time to plant and grow things soon. All we have to do is survive until then. This attitude exudes into other things, like wanting to see everyone in a forum or any venue who disagrees to bury the hatchet so to speak. Wanna do that, fine, but that doesn't mean everyone else will. This is one of the more innocuous instincts that still remain. It helps business by facilitating a Chrismas rush. People are into festivals and things like that, and there is nothing wrong with that, to a degree. A degree which we are well past. I'll bury the hatchet any day of the year. It doesn't have to be the solistace or Christmas nor anything else. Every day is really pretty much the same, it is people who make it different. Be well, and flame on. Enjoy every minute of it. I don't care if you have everlasting life, THIS particular life needs to be taken care of. T
