ORIGINAL: Stephann Personally, I drink a lot of water. I keep a 1/2 liter glass and a two liter pitcher next to the computer. I can easily go through four to six liters of water a day. I also go through a few cups of coffee (give or take) and a half liter of beer (sometimes more, sometimes less - gretchen and I are regular beer drinkers.) The trick to drinking water is like LA said - just do it. Keep it nearby, and take a swallow when you notice it. After a while, it becomes an unconscious thing. Stephan Hello, When I am teaching my class, I wear a rather large suit of padded foam and vacuum formed plastic armor. Then I do gymnastics while angry women beat me up in order to imprint a (realistic) response (to blows inflicted on me) in their limbic system. I sweat about a quart an hour. I will drink one to one and a half gallons of water in a 3.5 hour class and not have to urinate for several hours after teaching the class. The problem with drinking water with anything in it, sugar, bourbon, whatever, is that the bodies digestion processes require water. So if you are drinking water to ease your thirst, which is the bodies signal that you need to drink water, your body is using the water you drink to process whatever you put in it. However, with the amount I sweat and the amount I drink, what worries me is electrolyte depletion. What I add to my water is (Splenda) no calorie Emergen-C with electrolytes, vitamins, as well as potassium, glucosamine, and chondroiton for joint health. Just me, etc. Sinergy
