I'm just wondering, how will you tell the difference between a genuine female author and an author who is really a male poser using a female pen name? Easy. The same way you can tell an author who's writing from a genuine love of their subject as opposed to an author just trying to cash in on a trend. It takes an exceptional writer, particularly in the field of erotica, to disguise their gender successfully. It's very hard to disguise how our brains work. Try reading Anais Nin's work: very few males find it erotic, but most women go weak over it. Generally, women write about feelings, whereas men write about the mechanics. This is why I specified women authors: the books are intended for my wife to enjoy them, not me. I'll probably find them a bit dull. Besides, I can find erotic male fantasies anywhere. No disrespect intended to the authors, but women's erotica and men's erotica are usually two different things. My wife likes me to read Anais Nin's short stories to her: I find them dreadfully boring and don't enjoy them at all. She, on the other hand, gets incredibly turned on.
