While i agree with part of your premise that one must trust to believe that the other person is being honest, what i was really addressing is the fact that trust is a fragile thing, easily broken and not easily fixed, as i stated in my last post on this thread. It would be nice if once trust is given, it is always given wisely and is never violated, but i don't know many relationships that have that outcome. i am happy for those who have never experienced a violation of trust.

greetings

i went back and reread your original statement; i apologize, i had misread your words. i thought you were inferring that to have trust one must first have honesty.

Thank you for your response, my intent wasn't entirely clear in the first posting.

your point here regarding the results of betraying trust are really right on the money, imo.

Trust is so important in any realtionship and all too frequently that trust is broken in a major way which then makes it all the  more difficult to trust the next person you encounter in a realationship. Honesty is also very imprtant and goes hand in hand with trust.

With all of that being said, a slave shouldn't control the Master/Mistress but if the "M" does things to betray the trust of the slave or if they are dishonest in a bad way (meaning not in that "little white lie" way to set up something or to teach a valuable lesson when all will be made clear afterward) Then the M will do a disservice to the relationship and to the mental/emotional state of the "s".

Responsiblities? Well, think of it this way, "what are your responsiblities as a pet owner?" Sounds funny but... some people treat the dogs to the best meals, high end training and grooming. Take them everywhere and them on a pestal.
On the other hand, sound folk keep their dogs in the backyard, feed them and that is it.
Unlike a dog you have say in who your Master is. Pick wisely. You help define the relationship be choosing the person you hookup with. If your Master want to treat you like dirt he will, if he want to treat you like you are a doll, that's his choice. Your job is only to go with it.

since Master and I do not live together, I would have to say that his actual responsibilities are a bit more limited than if we were living together.
