Fascinating. Any idea why, Lorelei? Birds tend to see things in terms of "shapes". THIS shape means a tree, which means safety, THIS shape means hawk, danger! With time and gentle training, they eventually learn that a "human" shape is ok to be around. But change that shape by adding something like a hat to the mix, and well, to a bird you've got a whole new creature that could pose a threat. As a prey animal, birds have to be VERY alert to changes like that in their environments. quote:
Wow I thought I was the only one lol. Yes yes & yes. I have scars from birds.. it began with a pelican when I was four and it continues to this day Sorry to hear that the birds don't seem to like you either cjenny... Myself I guess I have always had a natural "bird magnetism". My mom used to tell me stories of how when I was 5 I used to get close enough to pet the wild canadian geese that visited our pond. So maybe birds DO have a universal attitude towards some people?
