G'morning all: I noticed my dusty old thread got picked up & dusted off. Figured I'd throw another 2 cents in. While I'd find it extremely difficult to accept being called "Rutabaga" with a straight face, the priniciple applies. It's merely a comfort zone. In the past, I've played with a t/g, bi, poly, switch who is also a Druid. Due to her discomfort with calling any human the designation of a deity, "m'Lady" became the title/honorific used in scene. Otherwise, she calls me by my given name. Many has been the time that lifestyle friends call me by my nickname here; Bella. *shrugs* Whatever works, lol. I'm an easy-going kind of gal. Although? "Supreme Light of the Universe Snuggle Bunny" has an appeal all it's own... quote:
Bottom line there are a lot of Doms and Dommes who are NOT WORTHY of the title. And those who are not worthy of the title do not understand it is a responsibility. Does not matter how he or she refers to themselves. Thought I covered that already Here: quote:
I certainly don't feel either gender is superior to the other. Respect should never be given, it better damn well be earned! Courtesy on the other hand, is just good manners. All should practice it, especially if they'd like to have it returned. & Here:quote:
Then again, I don't think any human being can earn that title, male or female, as life is a continuous process & one should never stop learning. All of life is a responsibility. Most especially in D/s. One must take care to conduct one's self in a manner how they themselves would like to be treated. Hence the courtesy. I honestly feel if courtesy was a wide spread practice, to grease the wheels of society as it were, there'd be a significant reduction in strife and misunderstandings. A rant for another time. p.s.- I've been known to answer to "Bitch" as well. My most common retort though: "That's MS. Bitch to you!" <chuckling> Stay safe, play nice, & share your toys w/ others... Bella
