OK, "you're sheltered!" [:D] People do some mighty unusual things to each other. People get equally unusual things done to themselves. What you are describing sounds like some fairly heavy play, not some spontaneous idea for a fun evening. In some ways, it may help to think of it as a cultural thing. Tattooing, 20 years ago, was very unusual. Aghast people used to look at tattoos and wonder how could you let someone mark you for life, or what kind of freak are you? Now? Ink hardly raises an eyebrow. Speaking for myself, I would never try to involve someone in something that they don't have any interest in. If it's not your thing, you should never allow anyone to push you into it either. Be well! Edited, cause hooked on phonics didn't work for me.

I have been perusing sites trying to learn what I can about this lifestyle and have to admit that some of it makes me cringe too, but I know that some people really get off on it so I say "hey, why not?" Extreme pain would definitely not be my thing, but sensual pain, THAT is another story

I have been thinking about going to a play party beth, but I really don't even know where to get started... plus I would be going on my own.. so there is the "scared little girl" factor to deal with. Any suggestions you could make?

think Riot Girl was at the farm. tolerances increase, attitudes change, and limits expand to point there are none as time in scene increases. What i thought was horrendous years ago has become somehat of an every day thing.

Remind yourself of where the exit is at any time you want to leave- there's nothing wrong in deciding you don't want to be a part of a type of scene.

well it may or may not make you feel any better, but I got what you meant.... not all of us are completely jaded. Just a reminder that not everyone has the same amount of experience here you know folks.. Some of these things are entirely new to us, and we have a moment where we have a bit of shock to overcome. I am not the least bit apologetic about it either...

Maybe you don't understand that not all of us were born knowing everything there is to know. The only way we can understand and learn sometimes is by asking the embarassing questions. Sorry that I don't have enough tact for you, but I have been momentarily shocked by the some of the things that I have heard and seen at some points in time. Perhaps you would be kind enough to write me up a guide on behaviour in here because I don't read minds. I can't apologize for not knowing all there is to know about this lifestyle.
