The triology is old beginner work.
http://www.annerice.com/

Having completed the two cycles of legend to which she has devoted her career so far, Anne Rice gives us now her most ambitious and courageous book, a novel about the life of of Christ the Lord based on the gospels and on the most respected New Testament scholarship.
The book's power derives from the passion its author brings to the writing, and the way in which she summons up the voice, the presence, the words of Jesus who tells the story.

FOR THE READERS OF CHRIST THE LORD, OUT OF EGYPT: This new introduction appears in the paperback edition of the book, released November 1st, 2006:

This book seeks to present a realistic fictional portrait of Our Lord in Time.  It is rooted in the faith that the Creator of the Universe became human in the person of Jesus Christ and “dwelt among us.”  The magnificent mystery of the Incarnation is accepted and affirmed as fact. Scripture is the inspiration for the emotions and powers of the Child Jesus as they are envisioned here.   History as well as the gospels is the source for this picture of a world in which Our Lord might have lived, as a little boy, in war and in peace, from day to day.
Ad majorem Dei gloriam.

This is my all time favorite erotic works. The relationship between beauty and her captain......OMG. When he demands she ummm show herself, I was hooked.

Anyway, I have read interview about a million times, no way is it hotter than the dullest moments in the Beauty Series.
(unless you have a Vampyer or blood fetish???)

Remind me SirDiscipliner please........what was on page 135?

Assuming that the thread was about erotic novels with power exchange, or novels with power exchange, I submit the Marketplace series by Laura Antoniou.

I also thoroughly enjoyed Topping From Below, by Laura Reese, although readers should beware some bestiality they might find disturbing.

If the subject is BDSM authors who used pen names, Lady Green and Catherine Liszt are both pen names used by Janet Hardy in the past. Nowadays she is publishing under the name Janet. She's a pretty amazing woman, awesome to watch at play, fabulous to talk with.

And somehow it was missed that Anne Rice had another penname for another BDSM novel.

Made into a disappointing movie (unless you like comedy) with BDSM overtones.

Exit to Eden, written by Anne Rampling.

Jeff

edited to add:  And then there have been numerous threads written about The Story of O, supposedly written by Pauline Reage, actually written by Dominique Aury, which was also another penname for whatever her real name was.  Her public persona was Dominique Aury.

Yes we did forget that one.

The movie was awful! But the book was pretty good. No where near the Beauty series but still good. Belinda was......well we will just say not her best work. :(

I thought Exit to Eden was a great book showing the realities of relationships - where one might loose interest in the lifestyle, or one introduced takes such a shine to it that they suddenly outpace one with more experience.

The movie was funny, and as a work of it's own kinda cute. It doesn't really count to compare it to the book, I don't think, though it did have it's erotic elements. I do remember a definitive desire to eat croissants after both movie AND book. ~grins~

Story of O was more fantastical, but an emphatically deep slavery which makes for lovely fantasy work! I have not read the so called "sequel" to Story of O, though.

Yes.  Pauline/Dominique wrote the sequel as well, more or less as an afterthought after the fame/furor over the first book.  I have it here, and haven't read it in years.  I would suggest hunting it down if you have the chance.

It is subtitled 'Return to the Chateau', to help you find it.

I didn't read the book..but I did see the movie....I wish someone would remake it....using the movie standards that we have now.  I'm not holding out much hope for better acting though....I am somewhat realistic....LOL
