Status: offline 		I don't wonder why such as Anne Rice hid behind pen names to write bdsm novels, i can kind of understand that. But others like stephen king i just dont get?
At least the bronte sisters had a reason to use pen names, women were not published in their time.

I am Gorean, I see nothing wrong with facing facts... Many of the recent sci fi conventions have tried to blackball Dr Lange from attending, hence my in some circles remark.  Besides I have asbestos skin ;)

I didn't read the book..but I did see the movie....I wish someone would remake it....using the movie standards that we have now.  I'm not holding out much hope for better acting though....I am somewhat realistic....LOL


See if you can track down the (roughly) 10-hour miniseries on 5 DVD's (or 10 VHS).  Made in the 90's.  I'll let you be the judge about the quality of the acting.

No but i did find the Marquis de sade online.
Dont like reading online though so ive ordered some of the marquis's work from the library.

As far as it being 'made for TV', yes, it was made for TV in a sense.  It was made for European CABLE TV.  Not broadcast television.  In the sense that there is full nudity, simulated sex, simulated insertion of butt plugs, sorta-simulated whippings, its no different than a feature film.  Assuming relatively equal acting, wouldn't you think that 10 hours of 'X' is better than 90 minutes?  As opposed to touching on certain scenes/subjects, it goes into a little more depth.  I'm an appreciator of either/both.

Is society ready for a nonexploitaive version that would be true to the real thing?
